So when having another bad day, telling people who keep on pointing out how miserable you are "yeah, one day I'll probably snap and go on a killing spree" causes a shocked reaction.
One person commented that they would never do anything like that because they'd be imprisoned for life. Which is amusing because I was deemed to be odd for joking about something like this, yet the only reason they wouldn't kill someone would be because they wouldn't get away with it.
Oh well, at least it cheered me up.

They'd kill if they could get away with it! Wonder what the best way to get away with murder is? Hello Sportsfans! Had some relatives up this weekend. They bringeth with them fine red wines! We had a 'tasting' on Saturday night. Hmmmmmmm. Thankfully the 'tasting' was over a lengthly period, and wasn't too late, so I was only a tad groggy the next day!

Looks like my job is becoming permanent now. I was in work today and as far as I can work out I'm also in for the rest of the week as well. If this is so then I can sign off from the dole and wave goodbye to that place which seems to be only staffed by clowns.

Well, that was a good start to the week really.... Got out of the office at 6pm, only to discover that there were no trains at all due to a power failure at Winchburgh Junction. By the time I obtained a bus and trundled around the round the houses route I got i just before eight.
Rarely has my dinner been quite so welcome.

The best way to get away with murder is to simply kill someone. By the time you're caught and punished, you've already accomplished your intent.

I'm off work today because I got a text from the job agency last night that I wasn't needed in today due to a shortage of work. They did mention however that I work is likely to pick up again tomorrow.

Work went completely down the shitter today. The Bosses were in to check on the status of the new premises and do various pre-moving things. Everything seemed fine till I asked them about some results issues we've been doing round robins on to clear up. It turns out I am doing something askew, which is embarrassing and which I'll change quick smart. Problem is, the Boss just can't say 'Hey you're doing X when you should be doing Y', he has to belittle and insult me to boot. Then he accuses me of doing things that were entirely his doing, and when I finally caught him out with it, he just waved his arm and dismissed it.
I said I don't have a problem with being told I need to change what I'm doing but I'm tired of being treated like an idiot. His response? "If the cap fits, wear it" Then the whole argument deteriorated to the point where I was in tears as he walked out the lab. I think the only reason I'm not getting fired is because they're too busy doing other shit to find and train someone to replace me now.
I have *got* to get out of here.

Not in work again today. I emailed the job agency yesterday asking if I was in work today but got no reply thus today I went blindly into work not knowing if I was supposed to be in or not. As it turned out I wasn't needed in and went back home to (presumably) await a text, phone call or email from the job agency telling me that I'm needed in tomorrow.

A planning e-mail went round from the building manager round the offices in the building where I work which I managed to *cough* get a hold of. In the square outside work Apr 1-3 will be DOCTOR WHO ON THE BIG SCREEN! DALEKS! MONSTERS! MANY DOCTOR WHO RELATED HIJINKS! THERE'S GOING TO BE A BIG 3D STAGE THING!
We're off the 2-3, but I'm at work on the 1st and WILL GET NO WORK DONE!

Work went completely down the shitter today. Doesn't sound like a great place to be. Hopefully you will find alternative employment in due course. I'm quite glad I have managed to get Wednesday under my belt this week. It was an extremely hectic day between one thing and another and in the end I skidded to a halt on the station platform just before the arrival of the 6pm train. Fortunately I have a day off tomorrow as I have to await the arrival of a tradesman. I am considering spending some of it in the kitchen doing a bit of cooking, and some more of it curled up on the sofa with a new book. Karl

Given that ya'll are as likely tired of hearing about my job as I am thinking about it, here's something different. I have a lovely bunch of coconuts crocuses coming up in my garden. Took some pics of them this arvo: All my crocus are putting out flowers and my daffodils are shooting up like nobodies business. Most of my rose plants have fresh growth on them too. Hooray Spring!

We have inspectors in from HMIE all week every day at work and it's starting to get tense what with the constant observation and all of everything. This week can't be gone quick enough.

Never fun when the Inspectors are in. We have fortunately not been inspected for a few years now but I vividly remember it being a deeply aggravating period. Soon be Friday though!
I am currently sitting at home with the tradesman been and gone and a day ahead of me to potter about. The engineer came to install my satellite TV, he and the electromagnetic waves contended mightily with the trees behind my house, but in the end - as often occurs - the might of technology was no match for the power of nature. The Squirrels are no doubt tittering in amusement at the moment as their homes have firmly prevented me from acquiring satellite TV. Might just go for Cable instead seeing as the road is already wired for Fibre-optics.
And as an added bonus I will be able to tell people that my television is delivered by beams of light. Now I know that light is just as much a part of the EM spectrum as radio frequency energy. But still, television transmitted by beams of light, it is the next best thing to having Asimovean Hyperwave.

Currently shitting myself. Despite my better efforts, I'll be nowhere near my target for the month at work which means I'll fail to meet the half-way target for probation. As a precaution, I'll be instigating new extreme budgeting mode as of next payday in case I get kicked to the kerb after June. It's a great job, and maybe it's just taking me a while to get good at it, but I'd rather ere on the side of caution. Then, if I'm still there after probation, I'll have extra cash saved for a nice holiday.

A very quiet afternoon at SDF-Karlross - well, after 3pm anyway.
Before that time I was buzy breaking up a door (to join the one that went away in the bin lorry on Tuesday). There was much sound of splintering glass and bending and sawing of metal as I plied my trade with lever, craft knife and hacksaw. But finally my back garden is now finally free of mirrored doors piled in it.
I spent some time trying to disentangle the new instructions for dealing with the many wheelie bins and boxes that we have been given by the Council recently. It appears that now our "residual waste" bin will be collected once a fortnight, and on the other tuesdays they will collect everything else - one bin for green waste, one bin for reyclable material, a large plastic box for glass and "electrical waste" (the latter apparently defined as "anything with a plug or ciruit board"), one bag for batteries and one bag for old clothes/rags. Looking at the culdesac in which I live I suspect that alternate bin days will become rather crowded out there.

Got my wage slip today for last weeks work and discovered that I hadn't been paid time and half for working last Saturday. I was going to email the job agency wondering what was going on until my sister explained it for me. Apparently, a worker doesn't get paid time and half for working Saturdays unless they have done a 40 hour shift in that week. If that is true then I'll never get paid the right amount for working Saturdays. This is because a full five day week at my current workplace is only a 37.5 hour week but currently I'm only working there for no more than three days. I'm never working Saturdays again there if I'm only getting paid a normal hourly rate.

It's your decision, Zudo, but if I wasn't working more than three days a week I'd take work on Saturdays when I could get it, for two reasons, (1) to get the money, and (2) to show I was keen to work and get a rep for reliability with the company and the agency.
But then, Saturdays aren't that special to me.

Feeling fed up, I bought a pizza and some pepsi after work and watched the rather good Dalek themed extras on the Doctor Who: The Chase DVD. Not used to so much caffeine. I think I really am a Dalek!

Martin I did originally decide to work on Saturday last week for both of those reasons you mention but because I'm old fashioned in my ways regarding this I can be quite stubborn at times. I may consider working Saturday again sometime in the future but not just yet if it does come up again. In other news (news that comes under the sub-title 'too much information') I am suffering from severe flatulence! It's happening about every ten or twenty minutes and its making such a funny smell that it become almost unbearable. Maybe I should change my diet!
