An hour-long Lord of the Rings prequel (about Strider/Aragorn's dad) made by fans and given 4 stars out of 5 in a film review in The Times. www.bornofhope.com/Watch.htmlVery impressive given its apparent low budget. Martin

The Lord of the Rings films did absolutely nothing for me when I watched them. I thought they were just poor plots strung together with massive amounts of unnecessary CGI. As a result I think I'll give this prequel a miss.

A sensible decision. If you didn't like the official LoTR films (I loved them to bits), you'll get nothing from this.
The main point of interest in this prequel is how good it looks being a low-budget fan film. Judged by all other standards, it's nothing to get excited about.
