Episode 12: Survival of the Fittest

This was another episode which I enjoyed. After the end of last weeks I was initially disappointed that there was no Decepticons, until they brought them back. Finally the return of....

......DINOBOTS ~

I did groan though when Meltdown appeared on screen, expecting another poor episode, but fortunately he fitted in well to the story. Well except that they never explained how he escaped after being captured in episode 5. The way in which he was able to take control of the Dino's by hurting them made sense, as well as ties into the original series of the Dinobots working for the bad guys.

It took me a while to figure out why the two experiments looked familiar, as I was thinking Seacons, when instead they resemble the Pretender shells of Blood and Gilmer.

The only thing that I really hated was how naff Slag and Swoops robot modes are. Awful, just awful.

Oh and the best thing about this episode was no Bumblebee.

Edit: Just realised that the Triceratops is called Snarl in Animated and not Slag. That is confusing. Damn Copyright.

I've just watched this one with my seven year old daughter (obviously the target age) and I noticed the Pretender likeness of those two monsters.
Bulkhead is definitely becoming my favorite character from this series.
I thought Swoop and Slag, sorry Snarls robot modes were very reminiscent of their equivalents in that Dinobot Classics Minicon pack from last year. Anyone know if Sludge and (Stegosaurus guy?) will show up in Animated?

Despite also being disappointed at the appearance of Meltdown- i was very impressed with this episode. The pretender lookalikes were very welcome, and Bulkhead kicking some ass was appreciated. Fanzone is fast becoming a favourite in my eyes.

I'd have to disagree on the Dinobot's Robot modes though - i love them!

Still not sure about Snarl, just because I havent paid attention to it, but Swoop looks great. Hopefully the Dinobots will be popular toys and we'll be given a second wave of them.

And ditto to Fanzone and Bulkhead great characters that really make the show. Prowls coming on well also. And yes you dont realise how annoying BB is till hes not there. Butt hen I thought he was really good in Headmasters.

Lost my interest during this, didn't watch it all. I'm finding Animated episodes blow hot or cold for me.
