But *nothing* beats John Cullen and the bucket of seafood.

Liz has just reminded me of another tale....
Fave story #5 also (sort of) involves a member's member. And Air Attack Optimus Primal.

I can't remember if I've ever talked about anything of this calibre before. If I have I'm hoping that nobody has remembered it!

I got up this morning and found a letter with no name or address posted through our door. I opened it and it turned out it was from the village post office who delivers our morning papers. The letter said that it was finishing its morning delivery service as from today due it no longer being financially worthwhile. This has come as a bit of a blow for my father because a few years ago our local newspaper shop closed down and so we had to find another place to get us to deliver our morning papers which we found (the post office). But now that they have finished with the service we may have to find another shop in the village that does deliveries or get the papers ourselves from a shop. I suggested that there are a couple of off licenses that may do the service but I'm not that sure but my father is more stuck on the idea now of getting the papers ourselves.

I was on my way home from work in the mid-afternoon today (not goofing off, the office closes to the public at 3.30pm on Fridays and I have so much flexi-credit at the moment I am looking at losing an hour or more at the end of next week as it is), when I happened to notice the graffiti sprayed under the canal bridge by my house. The sight of what appeared to be "Ipso" sprayed in large letters piqued my interest so I wandered down onto the towpath for a closer look. Lo and behold someone had indeed sprayed "Qui Custode Ipso Custodes", or thereabouts - Latin for "Who shall guard those self-same Guardians" on the underside of the bridge.
Considering that the graffitti that we get around here generally tends to run to little more than "*&*% the English", "IRA" or random nicknames it just leapt out at me as a piece of work well above the average. If people must spray things on the infrastructure it may as well be something with a tiny modicum of learning behind it.

The graffiti in our village is usually the normal stuff but we do occasionally get some stuff that is worth reading that seems to have been written by a learned artist.

Could that also be tranlated "Who watche the Watchmen" ? In which case....

Could that also be tranlated "Who watche the Watchmen" ? In which case.... That is a valid translation yes. Even if they are quoting the film it still shows a level of thought that is far beyond most of what you see on walls around here though. Karl

My favourite local band are playing again tonight and I shall go and watch them play again. They are playing this time though in a much more convenient location for me. Usually they play in Leicester which is where the band members currently live but tonight they'll be playing in Coalville - the former hometown of the lead singer back in the days when we went to school together.

Shocked work colleagues in the pub last night with an angry rant about Jar-Jar Binks. "I've never see you angry before!" exclaimed one.
Gunguns push me over the edge.
Just been dealing with paypal 'customer service'. ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH!

Me, I went down to Cardiff Bay Thursday evening after work to hear Caerphilly Male Voice Choir. Next Thursday night is Barry Male Voice Choir. Probably give 'em a go. It's free, after all. Martin

I'm not into male voice choirs myself. Whenever I go to see live music it has to be of the rock or heavy rock variety. This is why I'm aiming to go to this years Download Festival at Donington Park. Ticket prices are a bit steep but we have a few big name rock acts from the past there this year.

Feeling a little hungover this morning. I didn't get back home until about 2am and then I got up this morning at half past seven to watch the Grand Prix. Too much drink and too little sleep isn't a wise combination.

My housemate did that exact same thing and woke me at 8am with the sound of ZOOM, ZOOM, ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

Feeling a lot better now that I've had a good long sleep. Although I did wake up to discover that my sister has come around to the house along with her boyfriend and newborn baby.

About a year ago I brought an anti-virus program by PC Tools called Spyware Doctor because at the time I had a minor virus on my PC. The company claimed that it was the best in the business for removing and detecting viruses but after I had installed it and also paid for it I discovered that it was hopelessly terrible at doing such a job. A search on the net came up with several complaints from customers who were also unhappy with the software and so I removed it from my PC and forgot about it ... until now.
I have recently received an email from the company saying that they were going to bill me for the latest update automatically for Spyware Doctor and so I quickly went onto their site and cancelled the automatic update. There was no way I was going to pay about £32 for inadequate software that I no longer had on my PC. Hopefully this will be the end of it.
