NordCon 2010 in Aalborg, Denmark, on June 19-20

Hi! I hope I'm not breaking any rules by signing up to announce our convention...

The Nordic TransFans Association, NTFA, is organizing its second convention, NordCon 2010, this year. The event will take place in Aalborg, Denmark on the weekend of June 19-20, and registration has just started.

Naturally there will be many competitions (with prizes donated by Hasbro Nordic and other sponsors), presentations, and so on, plus a few dealers.
We have also teamed up with HeadRobots.com to provide our first convention figure - a unique version of their Cobra headrobot toy! 60 units will be available, with numbered packaging custom-made especially for NordCon (preview below).

“I’m off to Aalborg in Denmark in a couple of weeks for Nordcon, a convention organized by the Nordic Transfans Association. The two-day event is being staged over the weekend of June 19th & 20th and I’ll be there for both days, meeting and greeting. The Saturday will see a Q&A panel and on the Sunday I’ll be doing a Transformers script to page presentation that I put together with artist Nick Roche a while back. One final reminder that NordCon 2010 is taking place in Aalborg this weekend.

Simon Furman is our celebrity guest, and he will not only do two panels (of which one is a presentation on how he and Nick Roche works when they go from script to the written page), but also sign and sell scripts for the unpublished story, "War Within: The Age of Wrath #4".

All attendees will receive numerous free gifts, including a convention programme/magazine, a set of postcards made for Auto-Assembly 2009 (limited to 50 sets), an exclusive sticker sheet supplied by ReproLabels, plus a double-sided War for Cybertron poster supplied by Activision Nordic. Activision Nordic is also giving all attendees a DVD featuring Behind the Scenes materials from War for Cybertron (regretably the DVD won't be delivered in time for NordCon, but Activision has promised to send it out to all our attendees once it is delivered to their warehouse.)

Today we have also tallied the prizes that will be given out to our competition winners during the weekend: More than 100 items will be given out to the top three winners in six different competitions! That's an insane amount of prizes, and we hope that as many people as possible turn up to give the eventual winners a really good run for these rewards!

There's still time (two days) to pre-register for the convention, but you can also turn up at the door without having registered first. We have recently amended the ticket plans, so that weekend passes are now available at the door as well, plus that there is a new family ticket that allows larger families to attend at the same price as two adults.
