Imagine if you are a political party leader. You have a vision for a "perfect" UK. If you had to sum up your manifesto into 5 key words (not a five word sentence), what would those words be?
You are welcome, of course, to elaborate on your choices if you so wish.

Actually, I think I can make it a 5-word (sort of) sentence. In tribute to one of the most important Governments in UK history (Attlee's 1945 Govt)...
Welfare State: Cradle to Grave
Sums it all up for me. Government is here to provide health care, social care, education and more. We all have a collective responsibility for each other in society and I am terrified by Cameron's constant pronouncements of "the Big Society" - which seems to be a vague notion that charities should run around trying to provide the kind of care for individuals that society should.
Alternatively....
Social Justice NHS Education Nationalisation
Apologies, I am an unreconstructed lefty at heart...
Edited to add: And still a floating voter!

Five words:
1. Health -saving lives, baby. 2. Education -engineering/science etc should have reduced studenty costs, with costs remaining on the less practical/industrial areas. 3. Crime/Punishment - Tougher sentences. They don't get out 'till they've got a qualification. 4. Employment -focussed on getting the 'wont' workers back to work somehow. 5. Nationalisation -of services in particular, out with these profit making outfits.
One five word sentence which I beleive in is:
Three strikes and you're out.
I think crims should be punished (and re-educated), and the American 3 strikes sytsem seems fair to me.
Another is as follows, don't know actually if large organisations can function without it, but surely they must be able to.
Far less freakin' red tape.
The NHS has managers that manage the manager managers.
Also,
More nudity on our streets.
Speaks for itself, me thinks.
Do these policies make me Liberal? Conservative? Labour? Monster Raving Looney? A' what?

Do these policies make me Liberal? Conservative? Labour? Monster Raving Looney? A' what? Hmmm. Not Liberal, since their focus on crime is on catching it early, having criminals meet their victims, etc. Three strikes means your system has already failed. Not Conservative, since you're into nationalisation. Not Labour, since they have built up all those NHS managers you're so fond of. So... dunno, really. Anyway, don't forget tomorrow night's leaders debate, folks, 8pm Sky News (available on Freeview) and Radio 4. Topic is foreign affairs. Martin
