I would have enjoyed this film as much in 2D and not noticed the difference.
Hawkeye's 'hesitating' cameo was probably my least favourite part of the flick, but even that bit looked cool.

Ralph, now that you mention it, I think I read that Brannagh purposely didn't film it in 3D. Thanks, all. I'll go and see the 2D screening this afternoon. My Dad would rather wait for the DVD than have to watch it in 3D, so I don't need to go to in the evening now.

Well, I just saw it and enjoyed it. I don't think I missed out on anything by not seeing it in 3D. I imagine the Asgard exteriors looked good in 3D.
There were two things that particularly stood out for me. The Asgardian architecture seemed grand, massive and epic which seemed to suit the original source material (by which I mean Norse mythology rather than Thor comics, which I'm not really familiar with). Then there was the standard of the language, which was well written and even better delivered; it didn't come across as pompous or arrogant as such language sometimes can in big-budget Hollywood films. (It wasn't just the villain who spoke "properly" either, it was everyone.) Perhaps that's what comes from having a "classical" director rather than a "blockbuster" director.
I didn't wait to see if there was a post-credit scene. Did I miss anything?

""Thor Af... Audio" This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Paramount Pictures Corporation."
Oh well, I'll have to wait for the DVD. Thanks anyway.
Edit: I've read a description of the scene.

Edit: I've read a description of the scene. There were several when I searched for "Thor after credits". I'm sure people will keep putting the clip up there. Martin

He speaks wisely does Walt. Didn't realise that he and his good lady had received a cameo in the film. This fact doth please me. Karl
