City: Jonathan has been in charge of building this year. He got to the end of the city one and was unable to attach the last piece, a yellow 1x2 plate that went under the window. I had a look and realised he'd built the entire thing back to front, the only way you could tell was that last plate!

Bought the Lego SW Mag yesterday. I'm a sucker for Y-Wings and this was a nice one! Oh Dear. The Rogue One Y-Wing, with Admiral Raddus and an R3 unit, is £18 off at Amazon with a free battlepack thrown in. They saw me coming. |

Bought the Lego SW Mag yesterday. I'm a sucker for Y-Wings and this was a nice one! Oh Dear. The Rogue One Y-Wing, with Admiral Raddus and an R3 unit, is £18 off at Amazon with a free battlepack thrown in. They saw me coming. Been building the Y-Wing all week. Bag 1 was a joy: Raddus - they did not keep me waiting - with the furry rebel and the yellow ground vehicle. Bags 2-4 were the body of the Y-Wing Bag 5 was horrible. Lots of fiddly repetitive steps. 2 x engines, each with 4 x pylons means you build 8 pylons, with lots of technic 1l pins/stud pieces. I ended up threading them onto an aerial and sliding them down that into the holes. Then there were the trailing end of the engines. 1x1x1 bricks, stud on each side, with 1x1 slopes or 1x1 flt plates on each side. Horrible. Just to wind me up the next set was even worse. I'd had Nexo Knight's Macy's Dragster sitting there waiting to be built for ages. Macy's Mace was capped with another 1x1x1 brick with studs on each side. Except this time onto all 5 studs went a 1x1 clear orange pyramid. Had to get a couple of brick separators in to get pressure applied in the right places. I say this every year but my hands may be too far gone for serious Lego now. |

Got the latest SW Lego mag today; the Kylo Ren shuttle is a bit simplistic, especially after the excellent Y-wing, but it's ok. Next month back to the minifigs with an Imperial Pilot!
