A word of warning people - this has been delayed into the UK. Diamond told me it was getting copies some time today (May 26th) and these won't be shipped to retailers until next week. So i guess we will have to enjoy the previews and wait for the real thing.

I've been lurking on a few board, this issue doesn't seem to be going down well.
Shame. I was looking forward to catching up with the Decepticons.

Disposable Heroes on the ebay show it as in stock. Ordered a Wildman cover, naturally.

"The theme I've been working with since I took over has been 'change.' And not temporary, comic-booky change that'll go back to status quo after a few issues, but serious, lasting change that's actually created within the characters themselves. By removing the two figures who have kept both the Autobots and the Decepticons on the same path for so long is a catalyst for this for sure."
That explains why Ironhide's come back after only six months being dead, and why Optimus and Megatron are absent following on from multiple previous stories where one/both was absent.

This is something that has irked me constantly since AHM began. IDW constantly tout new and exciting directions and/or big changes which will reset the status quo forever, whilst seemingly oblivious to the fact that they are actually taking baby steps back to the 80's. The only IDW books which have filled out the quota of new/exciting/different were Simon's early books and the tales Nick has had a hand in writing.

But, but AHM had LOTS of new/exciting/different things... just... told... off... panel...

Yeah. And those new and exciting things resulted in the destruction of the galaxy-wide military structure of both armies, whittling them down essentially into Autobots on Earth and Decepticons on Charr. Throw in the reunification of Galvatron, Cyclonus and Scourge, and assigning them an army of Sweeps, and I really begin to despair!

Good grief! 22 pages of padding.
Where is this series going?!

Good grief! 22 pages of padding. Where is this series going?! My main problem with the ongoing is I still have no real idea as to what the actual setup is. The Autobots lost the war in AHM. Offscreen. I can kinda get behind that, since we kinda saw some of the fallout there. But then Megatron gets shot in the head. And now... the war is over? The Decepticons are entirely defeated? They've gone from having the run of the galaxy to being entirely defeated because Megatron was shot?

It makes even less sense considering that not all Decepticon field commanders know of Megatron's status; if LSTOW is anything to go by.

I haven't read this issue yet but some of the past issues just seem to be written as and when and don't seem to have any kind of story or setup running through them.

Due to a brain fart, I have 2 copies of the Wildman cover on the way. As I do not need two copies, I shall offer one up here after I rescue them from the sorting office next Saturday.

I've only had a chance for a quick flick through it, as it turned up when I was cooking this afternoon and then there was weeding to be done.... The repro doesn't look bad on a cursory flick, but I do notice that it does not appear to contain all the covers for the miniseries (only one or two of each I think), and their have been amendments made to add small "Chapter X" captions to the start of issues. Still, it is good enough that I may well offload my Infiltration trade and replace single issues of some of the later series once/if Vol 2 comes out. Karl

I have one coming from the Turnbull. I will likely pick up the advertised volume 2 as well as the trades of the issues within are out of print and my single copies are long gone.

Now read #7. Despite gaping continuity problems a mile wide, by far the most readable issue. I thought things were looking up. Then I read #8. Oh well!
