Like the title says, I need to sell some stuff if I'm going to make it to AA this year, so I've started listing a few things on ebay. Right now it's just a few big pricy things, but once I tie up a few trades I'll be listing all sorts of G1 odds and ends.

I've generally found that for most items, listing them on forums first is best (here and Moonbase2 are the best for the UK). For rare and/or expensive stuff, use ebay.

Cheers for the advice I had a bunch of stuff listed on some of the bigger Yank forums (Allspark, Seibertron and what have you) and it's been slow going, so I was just going to shuffle it over to Ebay really. I'll give the Hub crew a few days to pick over it first though... Not on Moonbase 2 (any relation to TF@the moon?), and would feel silly signing up just to flog stuff.

My sales thread on TFW took a long while to get going and even then most of the stuff I sold to Americans is being handed over in person at botcon. Shipping is too much of a killer half the time it seems.

Sales threads on TFW move so fast they get buried on page 4 in minutes. Also it is hard to tell where sellers are from unless they explicitly state in the title.

Andy's right about the postage though... Especially for newer stuff, like TFA or even Cybertron, Classics etc toys, no-one wants to pay the postage from the UK even if the price of the toy is fair. But now postage for even a fairly small toy within the UK can be around a fiver...

Send stuff second class. I absolutely refuse to use first class now, since I've tested it, and things usually take exactly the same amount of time to get anywhere.

That's true, depends how and how well you pack it, I guess. Loose stuff isn't too expensive from what I've seen, but I have a few boxed things I'm going to try and shift as well, and packing those well tends to add a lot of bulk.
