Yeah, Hook's peg was metal, it makes sense to remove it, though they still have the metal internal joints. Those are more structurally relevant though I guess.
With the cost saving of weaponry, it still costs money to tool and cast new molds. Not that much for static items with not much engineering, but still a good amount I'd wager.
Interesting if the chestpieces were all on the same sprues though! I'd have thought it would be more efficient to get everything the same colour on one sprue.
EDIT: I totally feel the need to research and write an article on this, if you're up for helping, Andy!

My Rescue Force set and other goodies have arrived. THEY HAVE MADE ME SO HAPPY!!
And I also received an expedient and courteous service from Mr Blueshift. I would recommend him to all my sexy unmarried cousins. They would comb his hair and prepare lunch for him every day.

The only thing is, they live in Fife.
Perhaps at AA you could hire someone to stand at the entrance with a placard saying "GLORY OF THE RESCUE FORCE: THIS WAY, JUST TO THE LEFT OF GARRY CHALK".

EDIT: I totally feel the need to research and write an article on this, if you're up for helping, Andy! Indeed, it will give me the excuse to buy more of those Generations type books at AA. For research purposes only of course. I don't know how it was back then but thanks to the custom class at botcon I've now seen 4 figures on the sprues and they really aren't how I imagined them. For a start you get very little on each one. Using this years Sideswipe as an example you get 2 black sprues 3 white sprues 1 translucent green and amazingly 3, yes three red sprues. In the case of the red sprues (which are the black parts on Sideswipe and sunstreaker) the sprues probably make up a larger percentage of the plastic than the parts on them. So I'd guess Kill Bison came originally on 4 or 5 sprues. 2 grey, 1 or 2 gold and one red. For rescue force they could eliminate 2 sprues by removing the breast and the cannons. Creating a new mould is indeed expensive. I did some maths using the recent club exclusive and Botcon figures from the last year as there have been a lot of Universe deluxes with and without new heads and worked out that a new head on PCP or Rapido costs around $10-20 per figure, thats $15,000-40,000 depending on the size of the runs. Apparently thats a cheaper version for short runs, Hasbros mould cost more but get spread around further and they would already be paying the designers so getting a handful of weapons done wouldn't likely cause much overtime, but it is expensive either way. Possibly all the new weapons for all 4 figures were done on single sprue as I imagine all four would be produced in the same numbers. In that case they took out 8 sprues from the team and put just one back. Though its possible all Liokaisers red bits were from a single sprue as well which would be 5 sprues out 1 added. Andy

Last night I cleared off (and dusted!!) one of my display shelves ready for my new Rescue Force.
They're taking the place of the Reissue Multiforce things, so now I'll need a home for those.

But it makes more sense than the change of weapon colours and faces on Rescue Force (look at the packaging art, they have the red weapons, but the face colours that were with the silver weaponed toys) So do we have any way of know which version came first? If the faces started red and switched to silver I think that would just be bringing them into line with the rest of the 92 Autobots (and most of the 93 I think) who all had silver heads or faces. If they went from Silver to red that makes less sense. Andy

Red faces/silver weapons, and then silver faces/red weapons
My evidence is Toyfair UK catalogue scans, I can't remember where I found them, but when I do I'll stick it on the tfwiki

Rather than red faces first, it's same colour faces as the LioKaiser counterparts and then it switched to silver.
So RF Leozack and RF Killbison had red faces switching to silver, RF Jaruga was gold face switching to silver and RF Drillhorn was blue face switching to silver.

RESCUE KING LIVES! Thanks to Bogatan for the hats! I think I like the dark red one best, the blue one has a certain charm too though. I wasn't sure about the shade of red at first, but it seems to match the weapons nicely. I'll be making a video review this weekend!

Getting the red the right shade is tough, the hat I did after that one which I was trying to lighten a little ended up bright pink. Its good that the weapons are oddly darker so it does still fit.
I'll get the red right by next weekend.

Personally I think it should be called Rescue Kaiser, or Comte De Rescue or similar. But that is my brain malfunction talking.
He does look rather impressive.

Karl This is another thing I've been thinking about. I am spending way to much time thinking about Rescue Kaiser, but Asda doesn't provide many distractions. Of all the G1 combiners only Predaking and Monstructor used a variant of their team name. So if Rescue Force had combined, what would they have been called? Rescue Kaiser or more likely Rescue King are good possibilities maybe Rescue Prime. The non rescue name I like is HeroiKaiser or HeroiKing. Andy

..."Rescueheroi Kaisering"* even more painful than it already was. The teal Gaihawk makes such a difference as oddly does the big gun.

How much you selling the knock-off arms for Jaymz? I'd really love to make a complete "Rescueking" lol
Need to get in touch with bogatan, was meant to get stuff off him however got held up with darn MOT and car tax payments as well as silly weddings.
I still have my original Rescue Force Leozacks gun and one of his white tail-fins. Pity my dad chucked out a lot of my stuff about 5/6 years ago - i lost him as well as my Motorvator Flame, Springer, Astrotrain, Brawl, Aquafender, accessories to my Micromaster Countdown as well as my Overlords grey cab and big gun! At least i have all the rest of Overlord - i still can't believe how much he and the rest of them fetches nowadays!
