Sometimes it's nice to take a neglected Transformer off the shelf and revisit it, appreciating it again after not looking at it for a while.
Which toys in your collection have you recently re-discovered?

Tapes. In a big expensive way.
Minibots. And sort of as a consequence of the above!

I recently discovered that Astrotrain does indeed have his gun in his hand despite me clearly seeing it as being missing, and subsequently buying another one off ebay.

Binaltech Jazz.
Still looks pretty good. But with the advent of Henkei, the cool factor of the transformation is diminished and he does feel a little fragile.

Funnily enough, I was going to post about this. It's not toys, but I rediscovered my busts and statues on the weekend. As I've started rewatching my Dr Who and Babylon 5 videos I needed to make them more accessible, which meant rearranging some shelves and cupboard space. I didn't set out to do this, but ended up putting most of my busts on the shelves in my office where some of my videos had been. It's nice to actually have them on display rather than boxed up in storage.

I've been messing around with Movie 1 leader Prime after picking up a complete one at a car boot last weekend. Its the first time I've owned a decent condition original colour version ( I got Nightwatch instead) and so its the first time I've been able to compare Movie 1 to Movie 2 Prime.
It made me realise just how much I like the original mould. Undeniably the second is more screen accurate, but I just like the first. Also its remarkabley traditional. Despite efforts to disguise it, the torso is still very blocky so are the arms. And rubber wheels.
Oh and then I spent a viewing of Hot Fuzz applying loads of silver paint and its even briller.

Nothing in recently weeks, but coupla months back I rediscovered Sandstorm, the Autobot Triple changer. I've a thing for multi-changers, and Sandstorm has two great great vehicle modes.
Also, just before we moved into the posh pad, whilst I was packing and sorting, I sorta got sidetracked by, that wonderfull Brick-former, Quickswitch. Again, it's probadily the multi-former love, but you just gotta love the wonderfully simplistic changing between modes. He's got a mode for every occasion! I must get a Six-shot some time.

It's amazing how it keeps getting re-issued and that they can't get an update anywhere near as good as the original.

Nah, it's an 83 toy. If there's a '74 date on the copyright that refers to the year Microman started (for Microman begat Microchange begat (with Diaclone) Transformers)

I retreived my Leader Class Movie Brawl from the loft yesterday. He's a smackingly good Transformer! So bulky, guns freakin' everywhere. Looks not out of place along side my Masterpieces n'all. Marvelous.
I think Spiderman's guna fight him, soon.

I've actually discovered a rather nifty seventh mode for Quickswitch that I must remember to photograph. I thought that all the practitioners of Seven Changeform Style had died in the supression of the Chan-ge-ling Monastery. Could it be that a Stranger and Quickswitch have rediscovered the lost bytes. Or even developed a new technique of their own. I concur, we wish to see your Form-Fu. Karl

the European Sureshot version is better because it lacks the slogan over the chest.

Seven modes are an abomination! Haven't you read your Book of Primus lately? Now it's that kind of thinking that led to the suppression of the martial orders in the first place. We lost so much in the purges. Not just the Seven Changeform style, but things like the Centred Pivot Metalikato style and its One-Yard Punch or the Shadowless Kick of the Southern Kalisian style. Can't we all agree to disagree and live in peace? Karl

Recently I have rediscovered-
THE TERRORCONS!!!!!!
Love these little crazy fellows to bits. Individualy, or combined. I'd prob want "them" to do a 6 piece G1ick Classics Devastator more, but a Classics Terrorcons set is right up there on the Shockprowl Wants List of Madness.
Their personalities are great also. Hun-Gar (or however you want to spell it), has a rank of 9, so is clearly a Decepticon of considerable standing, yet he likes to stuff his face(s) all the time! Rippersnapper's nuts, Cutthroat's crazy violent, Sinnertwin's tough but afraid of small creatures, and Blot's, well, BLOT! They're wacky and bonkers and I love 'em!

While getting my shelves in order (Animated have caused a shift to two shelves over one) - I fiddled around with RiD Prime and Galvatron. Enjoyed those for an hour or so before the annual posing of the toys.

I've started to bring down my G1 Ultra Magnus and his Diaclone coloured version for comparisons and found that I really prefer the Diaclone one. There's always fun to be had loading Autobot cars on to the Magnus trailers.
