Here's a hypothetical scenario for you to ponder.
Take every year of Transformers, from 1984 until the present day and pick only 3 Transformers toys from each year with which to create your collection.
Now share your collection with the rest of us!

Do the toys have to be available that year or new that year ?

Yeah, why couldn't they have made it easier for you by releasing Prowl and Shockwave every year?

Darn tootin'!
I do kinda like Jazz, Wheeljack and Soundwave too though. I could have had a year off at some point and picked up those three, before returning to The Holy Work.

I'd just use re-release lines like 1990-1991 Classics to maximise the number of 1984-5 toys, and in years when they aren't released I'd take the most expensive toys and flog 'em.

What's the maximum number of 84-5 toys it's possible to get using this method ?

Quite a lot if you also use the japanese and US reissues from 2000 onwards and also G2. I went a fair way down that route with my selections. Although in my case it was more my dislike of AEC toys leaving a four year gap.
