Over at the myspace blog for the Transformers comic they have spilled the news that Stewart Johnson aka Staz will be contributing art to an upcoming issue of the comic.
This makes me very happy indeed.

Now all we need is Will Simpson, Stephen Baskerville, Dan Reed, Lee Sullivan, Barry Kitson* and Jeff Anderson! And Robin Smith to take time out from colouring to draw.

*Though he's Marvel-exclusive these days, IIRC.

Saw this on Seibertron. Some joyously dynamic linework there.

They look splendid. Can't wait for this issue to drop through the letterbox.

Now that is nice looking stuff. There is a fantastic level of detail in those panels, but at the same time a heck of a lot of energy and zip to them. Looking forward to picking that up in due course.

I still get blown away by STAZ's art in Death Wreck #1-4, which i got signed by himself at BICS 2006 - when STAZ didn't seem too impressed to see his painted Transformers cover, but nice that he has returned to do more work.

Staz is going to AA08 is he not? Will this be his first convention appearance?
I would love to meet him.

It will be his first Transformers convention appearance, though he regularly attends Comic Expo. (He was scheduled for last year's aborted Transforce, so I expect he'll be even more popular a guest as a result.)
It's good news that he's doing more Transformers - his issue was some of my favourite art in the title so far.
