I thought that too Matt, but it does indeed look like a recoloured Recoil. See the way his two gun barrels poke up over his shoulder, and they're black and close together?
I thought knockoff at first, but I've never seen one. And it doesn't look painted.

Darkov on the tfw2005 boards offers decent repro parts, one of which was a head for Siren, so I asked him to mould it in yellow so I can give Nightbeat a proper head. You'll have to excuse the poor pictures, I have neither the set up or camera for close up shots: The yellow is slightly off, but close enough for me. Just need to paint his face orange now, not sure on the shades though, either red, sliver or blue.

I've just ordered one from Bellyboy myself, and I think he prepaints his, so I'll take some pics to compare when they arrive.

What a great idea! I'd love to see the final version It will require me to learn how to paint figures first. And get the right equipment and paint colours. So it could be a while due to my generally apathetic attitute. I've just ordered one from Bellyboy myself, and I think he prepaints his, so I'll take some pics to compare when they arrive. Which means if this turns out ok, then I'll just order one from Bellyboy.

I don't mind painting it for you, Jaymz. Got an airbrush and everything, what with all the models I make. Not to mention 2 original Nightbeats to compare to.

Thanks for the offer Mikey! I'd like to learn myself though, as I have a few other bits needing to be done. Maybe we can meet up and you can hold my hand through the process.

That's awesome! D'love to see a painted version.
Of course, I don't have a Nightbeat toy myself because it's shit. But nice to be able to make it look more like the comic character.

I thought the Nightbeat toy was awesome when I was a kid, and at the end of the day, isn't that all that counts?
Sure, it isn't as good as others, but it isn't as bad as some either. It has a nice design, and the way the arms work are nifty.

Please let me know what else you thought was awesome as a kid so I can adjust my collecting habits accordingly. Sorry, I didn't mean it like that Graham! Just that I guess there are all sorts of reasons for something being good or not. I should have prefaced that statement by saying that of course, from a technical point of view, the Nightbeat toy is quite bad, with his weird proportions, huge arms and tiny little locked together feet.

I was surprised how much I liked the Nightbeat toy when I got it. Tis missing one ear, but my brain won't accept one real ear and one repro ear so the hunt for the other ear...goes on!

If you don't mind repro stuff, then ask Darkov on the tfw2005 boards. He does good repros for a decent price.

Anyone got a Fracas to hand? He's the Targetmaster supplied with Cyclonus Scourge.
I think the peg that forms his handle is a 5mm peg but could someone check for me. (indeed I think all te TMs have 5mm pegs but I'm unable to check myself not owning any Tragetmasters before the 1988 ones)
Ta !

In my defence can I point out that Fracas' Japanese counterpart is called Nightstick adding to the confusion?

I think the same Nebulans were used as partners for Stepper (Fracas) and Artfire (Nightstick) if that helps.

Yup, I know that. And it's partially in relation to that I'm asking. Inferno's got 4mm peg holes in his fists. If the peg for Fracas is 5mm then the lightlyhood is that Artfire's hands are remoulded.
