Before Auto Assembly 2010 has even started, we're not resting on our laurels and plans are well underway for Auto Assembly 2011! The date has been set for 12th - 14th August 2011 at the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham, England - the home of Auto Assembly since 2009 and home to this year's convention taking place this weekend! Details are limited right now but we can say that all the usual activities and events that you have come to expect from Auto Assembly are planned and we already have our first two voice actors CONFIRMED for the convention. We aren't announcing either of them *just* yet although some of you may find out sooner than you think... Ticket prices are £50 for adults and £38 for children, students and senior citizens, with under 5s admitted free. One day tickets are available for the Saturday or Sunday (although these will NOT get you into the Friday or Saturday evening programmes) and these cost £30 for adults, £21 for children, students or senior citizens and under 5's as always are free. Family tickets will be available shortly. Tickets will be available to buy at Auto Assembly 2010 this weekend and ALL Auto Assembly 2010 attendees will qualify for a discount enabling them to register at this year's rates but those prices only apply until the end of September. We do have a limited number of on-the-door places available still if you haven't booked so you still have a chance to join us this weekend! For more details on the convention, or for information on Auto Assembly 2010, visit the website at www.autoassembly.org.uk We hope to see you all in August 2011 or this weekend! I'm looking into booking.
Though next year may be even more difficult to come along when I've got my little un on the scene. Would probably be wiser to wait till after Christmas or something. I'm really regretting not going this year but I had an exam the following Monday to revise for... Grrr Priorities.

Any idea when the AA website will be updated with the registration discount for this year's attendees?

If I can scrape enough money together I'll certainly be going next year. The past two years have been excellent and I'd be stupid to miss out on next year.

I booked for AA2009 in like April of that year, after New Years should be fine (as long as it's like 48 hours before the actual con begins lol)

I shall have to await the day of pay before I book for AA2011. The budget does not quite stretch that far. I shall sort my booking out one I become remunerated again though.

I'll book when I'm working again. Heck, I'm going so it'll get done. And there's a year, I don't see the need for the tearing rush.

The only reason for getting in your pre-registrations this early is to take advantage on the price freeze. After about September the ticket price will rise by £5. Personally I am not all that bothered with an extra £5 slapped onto the price. I'd pay to go to AA if it was about £70 a ticket because it's generally that amazing.

I'll probably be skipping this due to cash being required for other things in 2011.

That's for the whole weekend. I post a few links on here so other can get cheap hotels & know which sites to look on. Then we have more money for the dealer tables.

That sounds good to me Incidentally, as in past years you can barkingly get a cheaper rate than the convention rate if you go directly to the hotel website, though these are non-refundable rates. When I looked a couple of months ago - before I had the AA confirmation and hotel booking details - it was showing as no availability (which I put down to the convention block allocation rather than actually being full up) but when I looked last week having had my confirmation, there were rooms available. I saved £20 a night by booking room only rather than B&B.

I won't comment about the Holiday Inn and their room rates... apart from the fact that they have generally tried to screw us over this year to be honest. They know they have us as a captive audience and have basically taken advantage with the room rates knowing that they have been able to block off a lot of rooms pretty much holding us to ransom with the prices.
There is another convention taking place not long after us that is there for their first event, yet they have been offered better room rates... as you can understand, we are not particularly happy with the way things are going.
Saying that, we have incredible room rates in place for the Hilton for 2012 and some added bonuses as well to encourage all of you to book though the convention discount rate... and we will finally have online booking for the hotel using a custom website that the Hilton will be setting up for us!

Indeed.
I had a mare of a time phoning and booking my room. They were not helpful in the slightest.

I can second the motion that actually trying to book a room was not in the slightest easy. I did manage to get my booking in eventually but it was certainly the most frustrating and irritating process I have had in booking a hotel room in quite some while.
