Assistance required my forum buddies. What was the Dreamwave series called that had Shockwave being ruler of a united Cybertron and comming to Earth, wacking Megatron and then leaving Ultra Magnus to capture Optimus's Autobots. I only read that first issue. Thought the story was an interesting retake. I'd like to find the other issues, but a) don't know what it's called, and b) don't know how many issues there were.
Info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It was called War and Peace and it was six issues. They can be found on ebay or IDW have reprinted the trade collecting the six issues.

Well we are a bit biased in that we don't care much for the writing or the art, but as I have said elsewhere it'd be a dull world if everybody liked the same thing.

Incidentally, Shockprowl, did you track down the story? What were your thoughts on it?

Probably hopeless! I've never read the story but too many bad reviews have put me off doing so.

Probably hopeless! I've never read the story but too many bad reviews have put me off doing so. It's... not awful. At least stuff actually happens in it, and there are a few interesting ideas. It is just very very fanficcy. And not in a good way.

For all their faults, DW at least tried to keep a good sense of continuity going throughout their various titles and the writer's communicated. It may be mostly fanwank, but at least there aren't too many gaping craters, continuity wise. Well, with the exception of the Grimlock thing that they never really bothered their arse trying to explain...

If memory serves, he defected at the end of the first mini-series (by Chris Sarracini), but had apparently rejoined the Autobots at the start of the second (War and Peace by "Brad Mick").

Yup, that's pretty much it. Why is it, I wonder, that there must always be a traitor in the Autobot ranks in modern American Transformers comics? - Tony

The thing is, it was done so much better with Mirage in the opening mini-series when he had wavering loyalties and then realised that however distasteful he found the war, siding with the Decepticons was a much poorer choice.
