Byron was such a charisma free actor.
When watching the Day of the Dead episode I was disappointed when Mr Morden appeared and his hair was not as bountiful as it was when he was alive.

Inexplicably we do not have a B5 thread, despite it being discussed in various places.
There was a rare treat for Ralph as I let him watch Legend of the Rangers. The first time he has seen it since it was released/escaped back in the day.

Inexplicably we do not have a B5 thread, despite it being discussed in various places. Are you sure? ;-) There was a rare treat for Ralph as I let him watch Legend of the Rangers. The first time he has seen it since it was released/escaped back in the day. Had he not seen it before? there was a treat for him! It had G'Kar in it, that's all I recall. Has he seen the other straight to DVD B5 thing? If not we can arrange that....

But the truth is a three-edged sword. Wikipedia claims the US broadcast of Legend of the Rangers was Jan 19 2002, making it 16 1/2 years.

Watching B5 for the first time since the nineties. Only a few episodes of season 2 though, so like... No major rewatch.
First thought: It's way campier than I remember
Second thought: the camp becomes invisible surprisingly quickly.
Third thought: writing still holds up amazingly well.
Fourth thought: boy was it way more ambitious than it's budget allowed.
Fifth thought: Boy I wish we could go outside those internal windows to actually see the full station!
Conclusion: It deserves a major big budget reboot with MJS back at the helm.

It deserves a major big budget reboot No. There are certain characters that must not be played by anyone else! I wouldn't object to them re-doing all the special effects, though. Martin

Okay so I have now been broken to purchase the complete series on DVD. It really needs someone to put some love into it. Even if not a full remaster like TNG, and new effects like TOS, it at least deserves someone to clean it up a little for modern televisions.

I was at parents dogsitting when my dvds came in, so had started watching on my laptop. All the CG stuff was of the most terrible quality. The live action stuff looked completely normal.
Now home and have watched more on my actual bluray and television, and (while very dated) the CG played just as normally as the live action stuff.
So that was just something really weird with my laptop. I retract much of my last post.

Boy the jokes just hit you like a freight train on a cruise liner.
Stargate telegraphs it's humor a bit, and in Star Trek, you can see it coming a mile away.
But with B5, you'll be looking one way, and a joke just dropkicks you in the back of the head.

I remembered how much I loved G'Kar, but I had forgotten why. I just remembered that he was an amazing character, and Katsulas was just as amazing.
But I completely forgot about how much I loved Londo. And gosh what a job Jurasik did. Because how easy it would be to flub that character. Every bad choice he makes just... hurts, because Jurasik is able to show that buried and dull diamond that's hidden in his soul. It hurts to watch him repeatedly make these bad decisions, because you know he's better than that.
