From that link: "there will be a scene with Lockdown vs Prow l."
I half read that as "there will be a love scene with Lockdown vs Prow l"

I...hadn't noticed, to be honest. But then I've never really given a toss whether figures are show accurate.

I have it in hand courtesy of www.kapow-toys.com/ (who btw were very helpful responding to emails and quick shipping). The contrast between the blue and white in the pictures works really well imo, but seeing the odd coloured shoulders they used in the final production... blehhhhhh.

I can see what you mean - they have the same kind tandem combination kind of thing going with them. (I haven't really seen that anywhere else either come to think of it). I have to say though, that they have gone from "I'll be curious to see them, might be interested in picking them up" to "I'll probably not bother, even if I can work out what they turn into" in one mighty bound. The first Animated toys to not really have any appeal at all to me. Karl

Except the heads. Look at the heads they're fantastic. Heads aside not sure of the style for animated, but they look like being fun toys.

How odd. They look like they've been photographed without clip-on wing sections, like something you'd find in a car boot sale and hope to complete at some point without having to spend a fortune on eBay for the missing bits.

They remind me a lot of the Autobot clones! They really should be called Fastlane and Cloudraker.
I find myself drawn to them. Well, they're different!

Big Bad Toy Store have the first pictures of the upcoming Animated voyager-class twin-pack, Jetfire and Jetstorm. The jet modes look a bit iffy and the combined form appears to have boots for hands, but they get so many bonus points for the Gaigogar-style combination that I'll forgive almost anything. -Nick

We'll see. It could explain how the line has been unusually discounted so quickly in comparison to how TF lines are usually promoted over here. But time will tell. This could be just one supplier losing stock.
If the line was pulled, it would kill the new UK Animated newsstand comic stone dead.

It does surprise me to hear it described as doing poorly I must admit. Certainly it seems to be under-distributed, in terms of most shops not carrying the larger toys, but the deluxes have seemed to be doing pretty well anywhere I have seen them. Places seem to have problems keeping them on the shelves they have been selling so well.
It would be a shame for it to go under, it would mean we would be without Transformer toys in most shops for a fair while till the next movie line rolls around.

Oh even if Animated was pulled, the Movie line rumbles on in repaintsvile and Universe pops up in some places.

What? Animated is selling fine in Toys'r'us. In fact, it seems to be doing okay across the board. Better than Cybertron, but not as insanely popular as the movie line. It's only edged out by the movie line continuing to sell well right next to it.
No. Animated is not getting cancelled. The frequent promotions are just something we're unused to- TF now has a reputation as a big seller, and stores like Tesco and Argos are using them as a loss-leader to bring people into their toy departments.
I mean, last year Toys'r'us had the TIE Bomber come in at half price. That didn't mean it was unpopular- it just meant we had tons of them and Star Wars sales went through the roof because people came for the offer and stayed for the rest of the selection. Our most popular action figure line right now is Ben 10, and we're currently selling the 10-figure packs for half price. Heavy discounting like that either means loss-leader or deal from manufacturer.
There is nothing to worry about. That is my call as a professional shelf-grunt.
EDIT: Over on 2005 it is, of course, The End Of The World. People are blaming Hasbro UK, Nicktoons and Michael Bay (?) and there is much wailing and gnashing of teeth over... what? A phone call that some dude with an online store had with one of his distributors? I think I'll wait for some corroboration before I don the sackcloth.

Cool.
It makes no difference to me personally. Line looks great but none for me until a future more secure period. It's not like they will be difficult to find online anyway!

Now I'm not the world's greatest Animated fan. But from where I was standing all ther dlx toys and any Voyager that wasn't Bulkhead were all selling very nicely indeed even before the offers came along. vBulkhead and anything larger .... less so, especially as there were smaller versions availible.
Universe also appears to be doing ok despite a high price pt for the dlx. It has a more limited distribution though.
