Yes! But how dumb are the Decepticons to give themselves names like 'Megatron II' and 'Galvatron II'. Is 'Megatron II' pronounced 'Megatron Two' or 'Megatron the Second'? Inquiring minds want to know!
I love how large you've made Soundwave compared to the other little twerps.

QUOE: Is 'Megatron II' pronounced 'Megatron Two' or 'Megatron the Second'? Inquiring minds want to know! I would think that Megatron the Second, as Megatron Two just sounds...twerpy The designations were necessary since having two Galvatrons and two Megatrons around would make things confusing, particularly in narrative exposition. In future chapters, I stray from explicitly calling them Megatron II and Galvatron II - but keep in mind that these were initially written for audiences who might not have had any inkling of Beast Wars II, and whose idea of Megatron was limited to, say, The Movie or Armada/Energon/Cybertron - or maybe I was being overtly paranoid that people would confuse their Galvatrons and Megatrons with one another As for Soundwave's size - I am roughly attempting to keep the scale in sinc with what Beast Wars showed us - albeit this gets a bit bothersome when you have to consider that the Destrons from BW II would then have to be...Micromasters? ... So - as usual with Transformers - scale becomes a problem later on - ultimately, I attempt to be consistent, but sometimes will inevitably fall back on the Transformers cartoon tradition of "whatever!" Glad you like it - next chapter coming up soon! dyrl

Ah hah ! A Fokker-style kick-stop, that Decepticon wasn't ready for that little move.
Do love the gargantuan proportions of Soundwave compared to the Predacons.
Yes. This doth entertain me. Nice to have these back again Pete.

Now that I think about it, it would have been more realistic for the VF-1J pilot to simply release chaffe against those missiles. Using the kick stop against a pursuing fighter is one thing, but using it against missiles is actually kind of insane - particularly if they are heat-seaking missiles... Oh well! Too late to retcon that now!

Too late to retcon that now! But the correct response to being pursued by a swarm of missiles is surely to switch to Battroid mode and shoot them all down with ones gun-pod. After all, if it works for folks like Max, Hikaru and Nexx...... :-) Karl

I think the thinking here was that switching to Battroid would entail taking on Skywarp in robot form - and insofar as a Valkyrie could technically out-fly and out-dog fight a Decepticon flier - I doubt that it would stand a chance in a Robot to Battroid confrontation... The reason is simple: no matter how good a pilot you are and no matter how smooth you fly your battroid, the Transformer will always have the upper hand because they are not external to their body - they are not "piloting" themselves - they are just moving naturally. I guess I'm thinking that Transformers in jet mode would be more uncomfortable and at a disadvantage for the same reason. Their "crouched" down in the form of some alien machine flying in an alien atmosphere - suddenly their movements must be limited to what the jet allows. Sure, they might be capable of instantly "learning" to fly via computer simulators and like a computer playing chess, they would immediately be able to process various possibilities... But Skywarp could never possibly process the possibility that the human jet he was fighting would suddenly do what it did here... But fear not - future issues will definitely give Battroid mode some love VFTF1
