Congrats Nigel. I won three sets of Micromasters in a competition in the Marvel Transformers comic when I was 9 or 10. Cool! Was that in the four-week find-the-Micromaster competition with the magnifying glass? Ironically, I never entered a competition in the Marvel comic - I never remembered to enter in time - but I've had a good track record since. I've won twice so far in the Titan comic, I won two or three times in the Panini comic, at least three times in the Stingray and Thunderbirds comics of the early 90s and I think three times in early issues of SFX. Plus a friend of mine won a Seaquest kit in a modelmaking magazine he borrowed from me. |

I won a Transformers Annual from an 80's tv show with Gazz Topp. Also I've won TWO Care-Bears. In seperate competitions.

The only thing I've ever won in a write-in competition was a Robocop: The Animated Series video from Marvel UK TF. I've still got it. It's awful.

Cool! Was that in the four-week find-the-Micromaster competition with the magnifying glass? That's the one. I remember the excitement of combing the page of 200 winners, only to be disappointed when I couldn't see my name. I recognised it on a second attempt, though they managed to get my address wrong. I won a Transformers Annual from an 80's tv show with Gazz Topp. Bad luck. The TF annual sounds good, but I don't think I could stand Gaz Topp as a prize. He would go straight in the bin. |
