It's a sensible move, though given the economic climate pushing the prices up in the first place was a stupid move. The demand for comics is not inelastic as both they and Marvel have found out.
Given the trades will be half an issue lighter will we see their price point reduced? I doubt it.

I can't help but feel though that if comics hit the five bucks mark it's just getting ludicrous. The business model is broken.

When comic companies release their new titles at $3.99 mark - should they do extra stuff?
Have glossed paper or back up strips?
Back when comics where 60p $1 cover priced we had Hulk issue having a back up strip with the main issue. So should new comics be 22 page main story & 10 page backup ongoing series.
