Hubcap
Hubcap is an older style car of indeterminate make & vintage. He's long, with a generally rounded shape with round hubcaps. The majority of the car is coloured red, like Generation 2 Hubcap with a silver front grill, bumpers and exhaust pipes extending from the sides of the bonnet and along the underside of the doors. You can see some evidence of how the different panels that make up the robot mode fit together here but all the pieces come together a lot tighter than many Transformers I've seen.
Transform: Turn the car over so you can see the underside with the front pointing upwards. Pull the doors out to the sides to form the arms then pull the arms down at the shoulders. Pull on the rear of the car to extend the legs. Fold the front of the car forward so the radiator grill becomes the chest and the head is revealed. Pull the roof of the car up at the back, slide the back of the car partially under it, fold the feet down and stand.
Hubcap's robot mode has the skeletal aesthetic common to many of the Bayformer Movie toys. The structure of the robot is formed from two shades of grey with the red robot parts hanging off it like armour. The doors find themselves on the lower arms with the exhaust pipes now running along the top enabling you to discover that they're 3mm bars suitable for mounting clip weapons on. He's been toting Tomahawk's missile launchers for some of today. His ankles & knees bend, there's a thigh swivel, the hips bend to the sides & turn, the shoulders turn but the shrug action used in the transformation is now immobilised by the chest armour, the elbows are ball jointed and the head looks like it should turn but doesn't on mine and I can't get a decent enough grip on it to force it.
All the ROTF style basics have been fun and Hubcap is no exception. Well worth a look.
I thought a black repaint of Hubcap would look nice but apparently there's one in the works with a flame deco on it casting him as Big Daddy.
