Shame we did not ahve the profile this issue. Be nice to have profiles of the extra toy characters. Repaints & toy only.

Yeah, profiles for the non-film characters would be better than, say, the "Design Your Own Optimus/Megatron Shaped Transformer!" thing.
The lead strip goes annoyingly fast, and there may be too many plot elements for a 50-page story. The main part, the 4-page Decepticon battle with NATO, is pretty damn fun though and the fast pace works for it.
And god damn, why IS The Gathering so good when split into 7/8 page chunks?!

The Marvel UK comics had the same effect when the US reprints were split into two or three segments.

It's almost like Furman planned it to be a short serial - the last reprinted page is too apt an ending to be accidental, and then there was #5 where a long fight scene in the US becomes a "holy SHIT Magmatron's gonna kill EVERYONE!" cliffhanger scene.

Very enjoyable lead strip this issue. I am liking the new direction. Good pace, lots of mass destruction, not sure what will happen next. Ticks all the boxes for me.

The 'Draw your own Transformer' section is a complete waste of two pages in my opinion.

I concur that the lead strip in this issue is good stuff - very pacy and with a good action feel to it. The basic idea may be one that we have seen before but the execution of it is rather good.
Amused me to see that although the fight was described as being between NATO and the Decepticons that the French couldn't resist weighing in (Mirages vs Dreadwing on Page 10), not that it achieved much for them other than property damage to Paris (props to Nick Roche for deciding to put a British Carrier on the cover too - even if the main strip sadly goes for an American one).
I didn't really much more than skim the rest of the issue to be honest. I'm mainly picking this up for the lead strip. Fortunately it is decent enough stuff that I don't mind that.

I'm pretty much the same. The reprints are not of much interest to me and the features are aimed at a different audience than me.

I wish Furman would return to the storytelling style of the 80s comic where every strip has a distinct beginning, middle and end that moves the ongoing story along. The final page of the Last Gleaming strip seemed to cut off in mid-flow.

I also only read the comic for the lead strip as I've got the original comics and the TPB's of both current back-up strips and can read them whenever I like in their entirety. As Andy says the features are aimed at a much younger audience rather than at us and so I don't find them interesting. This is just a shame really as the features in the original Marvel UK comics are still readable today - something that can't be said for this comic in about 20 years time by the kids who are currently reading it.

The A-Z entries and features such as 'Cybertron: The Middle Years' and the 'Robot War' summaries still hold up pretty well, in my opinion.

Quite like "The Middle Years", it gave a nice sense of a bigger tapestry having happened than that which we saw. But the features in the early issues were a bit sub "Look-In" I thought, they took a while to find their feet with that side of things. Karl

Another enjoyable lead strip. Beast Wars does read very well in the short format, but the prequel is starting to drag.
I'm glad they put in Nick's picture as a colouring page, it really shows off the line art. He's getting better all the time - one of my favourite Roche pieces.
Oh dear, another grammar gaffe: there/their in the prequel's introduction. I'm thinking of volunteering my services as a proof reader. Also, the reapparance of blasphemy in the letters page. Wash your mouth out, Kane McEvoy of Bristol. (Cool name, though.)

It was a deliberate error to test other users' observation skills. Well done, you passed the test.
However, two exclamation marks is not correct punctuation and you should have put "reapparance" in quotation marks.

I'm sure it was Nigel, I am utterly convinced of that fact.
As for punctuation as overlord of the forum I need observe no conventions whatsoever. Handy really, saves having to proof read.

I like that word.
Proof. Proof. Proof.
It sounds like something appearing or disappearing by magic.
