It has been announced that Christopher Nolan's third Batman film will be called The Dark Knight Rises, and it is out July 2012.

Well, ol' Bruce was in a pretty dark place by the end of The Dark Knight. He'd lost Harvey Dent, the co-operation of the police and the trust of the people of Gotham. Maybe this film will be about getting that all (or partly) back.

Agree!! Kinda villain spoilers- Originally rumoured that The Riddler was going to be the main villain, but now Nolan has debunked that.
Which is good, as I can't see how The Riddler would make for an interesting film plot, the character is just to kitsch. but given how The Joker was reinvented, I'm not doubting Nolan's ability to make the character interesting. I'd like to see Killer Croc as a villain. I'm not sure if you've seen the Mortal Kombat Rebirth trailer, but something along the lines of Reptile from that would be up my street, but likely a little too dark. A pity that Killer Croc was featured in the Gotham Knight animated shorts possibly ruling him out, but his whereabouts are left unknown (apparently the novelization has him captured in Arkham though).
