This morning, Toys'r'us dropped the prices on some of their Animated stuff:
'Roadbuster' Ultra Magnus is now £19.99 Shadow Blade Megatron is now £19.99 Jetfire & Jetstorm are now £9.99
For some reason, regular Leader Megatron is still £39.99 and the voyagers and deluxes are still £19.99 and £12.69 respectively, but whaddyagonnado?
Anyway, anyone who was holding off on these fellas, now's the time.

that's weird, when i bought Megatron a while back, with Activators Screamer included was like 19.99 from TRU, and that was only like 2 months ago, plus i think i saw the same offer on when i look in last, last month (going tomorrow, so can be sure then )

The leader+activator has been half price since Christmas- I didn't mention it because my branch has been sold out since about April However, leader-class figures (it's only been a couple of boxes of Megatrons so far) on their own are, logically, still full price. -Nick

Utter shame it's not the proper Magnus-colours version. I really want him!

Don't know if this should have been posted in the Toy Sightings or MP Soundwave thread but thought it warranted it's own. Picked mine up today in the Medway store and just wanted to let you all know he is out there!

nng. Want this so much, but surely can't afford it. Can I?
Those yellow eyes say "Soundwave" to me so much more than the Takara red ones that they've tipped it significantly into the want territory.

It is Edinburger TRU. We're unlikely to find it matching up to the rest of the world!

You can check stock on the TRU web-site, but as I'd hate to spoil a good quest... It is not in stock in Edinburgh.

On checking TRU Edinburger today, they had one on the shelf. £120. Which is quite reasonable as it comes with 5 cassettes (Jap release had 1) and also has an Energon cube. While the packaging is nice, it lacks a window so the toys cannot be seen so I still have no idea what one looks like in the plastic. The box also felt extremely light, to the point where I did wonder if the toys were actually inside and this was perhaps a display box put out in error but the tape was sealed! The lightness of it put me out of the impulse danger zone. I am still extremely tempted, however I think I would need to play about with one to see what the quality is like. While lightness does not equal crapness, it does give me pause on a big ticket toy item.
Nice to see the Burger store get it in though!

Darn it, using that stock checker stopped me from heading to TRU! On the other hand, maybe that's for the better.
I have heard that it is quite a light toy, lacking the diecast parts of some previous MPs.

It's not so much that its light, it's about the same as any leader class toy or MP-10, but the box is so large it completely throws off your expectations. The full set is spread across the box quite well, but The box is still massively deeper than needed. Soundwave in tape deck can probably squeeze in to the original 1984 Autobot cars box.

I seem to recall Shockprowl's review making a point of how light he was, but I guess it's all relative to expectations!
Stuff it, I've gone and ordered one.

Only as a tape player, robot mode is MP 10 sized. Just really compacts down.

Is this a bargin at £120 - seen that to get the set online at US sites - its %150 +$60 + $70 for Soundwave & all the tapes.

It's cheaper than buying the Japanese version.

You also get 5 tapes rather than 1. And a Megatron gun and an Energon cube. For anyone in the market for an MP Soundwave, the TRU release is the cheapest, especially if you want the tapes.

The pointy-finger on my Soundwave popped off last week and I cannot find it anywhere. A bit unhappy but keep thinking that there are worse things going on in the world...
Still warrants a muttered 'bugger' though.

2 weeks & all the stock has been sold - that was about 6 at least [how many in a case?]

From the size of the box, I'd assume no more than 2 Soundwaves per case.
