More figures, some old, some new. I wanted some of the Battlefront figures, discovered some looses sellers who also had some older items I wanted: Uncle Owen & Aunt Beru Owen's from a 3 pack, Beru is a rarer flashback figure. Both pretty poor by today's standards but these are the only versions ever of these characters. And you do get a treadwell droid as a bonus. Curiously I also got Battlefront Ammunition Droid Yeah a power droid repaint. But you can't have too many of these. The previous SAGA2 Power Droid was packaged with a Treadwell Droid repaint as well ! ATRT Driver Another Multipack figure, this one is a white version of the ATRT driver. Nice to have the default colourscheme. McQuarrie Concept Snowtrooper Sent to me by Play by mistake I was going to sell it on eBay. Then I bent the card under the chair wheels so had to open it. It's a good figure, as it's an Empire one they already had the existing Stormtrooper designs to work with so he fits right in in your Clone/Imperial forces. In fact he looks quite like the bomb disposal troops seen in the Marvel comic.

Big like AT-AT big or big like £80 Imperial Shuttle big? If SW keeps coming out with giant toys we're going to have to buy in some longer shelves.

I think we're talking larger than an ATAT.

*whimper*
I remember the last Millennium Falcon from just after I started at TRU. It was about the size of the AT-AT box if I'm remembering right. I guess the new one is a different mould on a larger scale.

Yup, that's the idea. The old falcon is just the 77 mold with minor mods for electronics and on the cockpit hatch.

My order 66 set is here Commander Thire Shocktrooper commander, looks very nice with the red cape. Galactic Marine White with purple highlights version allied to Mace Windu's squadrons Commander Bow A 2nd 501st Commander, this one recycling the ROTS Commander mold Airbourne Trooper Redone in 501st colours. First marine to have a significant variation to the paint mask. AT-RT Driver Repainted in the Uttapau squad colours. Looks OK, but nothing special Kashyyk Trooper Nice repaint of the Super Articulated clone using a colour scheme similar to the Elite Forces trooper. A bit of variation to your Kashyyk forces. Nice figures, decent repaints.

Picked myself up an "Animated Debut Boba Fett" this week - seeing as he was down to £2.50 in Tesco and I don't actually have a Boba Fett figure. (Needed a real Mandalorian to go along with all those Clone Troopers). Quite like the animated version - he even comes with the sort of hay-fork type weapon that he has in the Holiday Special as well as a Blaster. Probably wouldn't have bothered at full price, but at less than the price of a copy of "New Scientist" he was worthwhile.

Best not let my dad know about that, what with his obsession over novelty Mr Potato Heads.
What are the other 4 theme park exclusives then?

News from Toys'r'us- now that the January doldrums are over, we have loads of new special offers on!
All Saga figures are now 3 for 2, though we only seem to have the dregs of wave 3 and the Legends. Also, the TIE Bomber is now half price at £14.99, pretty good given the size of the thing. We also have Obi-Wan's starfighter with hyperspace booster, which is (I think) £29.99.

I weep thinking how much I paid for my TIE Bomber and try to justify that much for a 2nd in slightly different colours. Wave 3 ? The Vader/Biggs/Luke/Jawa/Stormtrooper wave ? So a load of Biggs then ? Otherwise I thought that wave was pure gold. Especially as you could mount the luke head on the Stormtrooper body. TRU Swindon only had a load of legends in. I may be tempted by a few more of 2008 Wave 1 - I've learnt that Obi-Wan and Vader/Anakin have beefed up articulation in the hips !

Some pics from ToyfairIn the latest attempt to get kids and collectors alike to buy crap or vanishingly obscure characters produced in needlessly high quantities (naming no names, Biggs) apparently the coming year's SW figures will start being packed with additional bits to build R2 units, just like Marvel Legends and their giant figures only more interchangeable. I have to say, though, that this strategy didn't work for Lady Deathstrike, it didn't work for Psylocke, and it sure as hell isn't going to work with Yarna Dal Gargan, the six-breasted overweight dancing girl from Jabba's palace. From the pictures, I can only assume she will be released in the same case ratio as Jedi Luke Skywalker and the first new Han Solo figure I've seen in about five years. IS IT? CAN IT BE?-Nick

Comedy value is probably the best angle to shoot for when trying to flog a figure with pre-applied marmalade, I reckon.
Does it come off?
