Someone must have noticed the local Woolies had the Clone Wars figures out too early. They have all vanished, including the shelf tag which has been replaced by one for SW TF's.

When Clone Wars merchandise started going through the POS system at their tills, Woolies HQ would probably have noticed as they'd be on the lookout for that sort of thing on the run up to a big launch. My branch of Toys'r'us got in bother for releasing Ben 10 a week early at the start of 2007 and taking about 400 quid in an afternoon before a frantic email came in from head office.

That's probably right re: woolies. They've now got a big end-cap display for Clone Wars but nowt in it.

I went through 60 quid this morning. Wanted a Clone R2 and a legacy removable helmet. Ended up buying the 3 Legacy Jabba characters to complete Vader's droid, the A-Wing (cos I don't have a red one - if any UKers want to buy my green one then drop me a PM) and a couple of older cheaper figures to push the totals over so I could get 3 Holo Grievous to help coiver my costs today.
I'd like to have 150 spare for a BMF but ....

Ah yes, the BMF does look glorious. It's the kind of thing where if I had £150 spare I'd buy one! But, er, no.
I had a look at the Clone Wars figures in the shops today. The design aesthetic isn't really to my taste and the £2 price hike kills off any impluse buy potential in casual SW fans like me. The Clone Trooper looked alright. Bug eyed Yoda continues to make me sad.
Eye-catching packaging though. The blue logo on white works very well.

Legacy is similar but with a Stormtrooper helmet
I only bought so many this morning because you could get free figures which I reckoned were worth ebaying off

Ouch. Been an expensive week.
To recap: I had the 4 Legacy collection re-release on the way with their R4 unit I'd got the first R7 unit seperately Sarsee Tinn, Snow Bunny Padme, Mon Cal Warrior and Quarren Warrior were coming with their R7 And I'd got the 2nd R4 ordered.
Then we had Saturday's TRU visit (which actually netted me a 2nd Wave 1 R7 unit (d'oh - didn't think that through)
Then off eBay we got: Imperial Pilot Biggs, the R5 from the new Hoth pack, and the all white EU R2D2
And BBTS sold us both the Rebel Pilots collections.
I think I'm done now till the new year - when we get the R2 and R5 build a droid waves, and that beautiful Yavin set with Red leader and his R5 !

Most of that stuff's here now. Biggs looks a little odd with the cutaway face plate, but I could easily swap the helmet for the full one thart came with Baron Fel. Sadly the ball neck joints for Biggs and the Baron are different sizes - was considering a head swap.
R5 is as expected - R2 ish coloured base, black head.
The R2 is nice, almost entirely white with a nice bright blue lightpipe
The build a droids are all great - though wish there were legs for the R7s without the thrusters on

I'm only mentioning these because I think it's safe to assume Phil's already got them...
Off the truck at Toys'r'us today came several boxes of TIE fighters and about two dozen Y-wings. The TIEs are in 30th Anniversary packaging, but other than that nothing has changed. We now have 6 out of the 7 original trilogy fighters available. Go Geoffrey!

Both Rebel Pilots evoloutions sets arrived today (courtesy of BBTS, no customs charge) Ho ho ho, what fun and japes. We'll sell you 2 sets of pilots and use the same body onc in each set ! So the Twilek and human females have the same body, Janson and the other Snowspeeder pilot, and both the A-wing pilots .... until you come to pop the B-Pilot's head off and discover the ball joints are different sizes ! Agggh ! I wanted a red pilot Outfit Sillustrian like wot's actually in the film. What's Hasbro's obsession with white suited, not in the film Sillustrian pilots ??

$100 postage? I knew there was a fair bit of heft to the AT-TE (I've handled enough of them at work, and only really heavy stuff gets packed one-to-a-box) but I didn't know it was that much.

Is it made of gold? -Ralph At that kind of shipping price I wouldn't be entirely surprised - although that may well be an EMS rate, as BBTS don't offer SAL or anything like that as far as I remember. I finally got around to opening the only Star Wars figure I have acquired recently - a McQuarrie concept Han Solo which I picked up in Middlesborough for £3 when Woolies were clearing them out. I was originally intending to use him as a lightsabre donor so that Darth Revan could get the off-hand saber that the toy really needs. In actual fact, concept-Solo looks good with the Sabre - he has a very "Tales of the Jedi" era or early KOTOR kind of look - I think he shall keep that for one hand to go with his blaster. Quite nice sculpt on it too. I am tempted to extract my concept-Trooper from Revan's retinue so he and concept-Han can be displayed mixing it up mano-a-mano. Karl

Hey guys... I have a vintage Millenium Falcon, Y-Wing and AT-ST. Anyone know where I can get a list of accessories? I'd quite like to pimp them up to complete status before (possibly) selling them on.

According to an advert on TV publishers DeAgostini are running a collection in newsagents now about Star Wars and with every issue you get a (possibly minature) model of a Star Wars vehicle. Issue 1 has the Millenium Falcon.

Ooh. Good deal.
It's a pity TRU doesn't have the reduced Bomber any more. All we need is the X-wing and Vader's TIE and we'd have the full selection of fighters from the original trilogy. Okay, the X-wing was out a couple of years ago but we've still not seen a new TIE Advance!

If anyone is interested, our branch is having an auction for the cardboard standees from the Clone Wars display tomorrow. All the proceeds go to Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. If any hubbers want to bid I can call out on their behalf, though I'm not sure how I'll get a 4ft high Yoda stand-up in the post.
