Not the explanation I was expecting... They do have different detailing and colours. I'm sure Jedi Fett also has a slightly different helmet. I thought The Doctor was being scale-ist again. I don't know if I have an older ESB version, but this newer ROTJ version is a completely different mold, far superior detailing, it's far more posable, and just just just IT JUST POPS! IT POPS! Magnificent figure. Succulent. |

I think the only Star Wars figure I now want are the human Skiff Guards Velken Tezeri (the human guard on the prison skiff; the first to fall into the Sarlacc), and Taym Dren-Garen, the guard who is crucial to the entire plot of the film, as he's the dude who shoots Luke in his robot hand. Amazing Taym in particular has never had a figure. (There's also another human guard who confronts Like on the Sail Barge who has amazing red trousers.)
Those two to round-out my Jabba collection and I'll be done with Star Wars!

I saw the second boxed set of retro figures being reviewed on youtube recently, the six that complete the original 12. That set was announced absolutely ages ago and this is the first evidence I've seen they're actually coming. I was really looking forward to having all 12 together on display on card, but the way these cards warp and decay because they're so thin has taken some of the shine off that.

Retro Jedi wave in from Star this afternoon. Most of these I didn't have first time round, but it's nice to see the Biker Scout again. I just wish they'd put out a few retro vehicles too.

I'll pass. I enjoyed Retro when I could get it in supermarkets but as bits of it have been hidden behind exclusives paywalls (and a price jump) I have lost interest. My tolerance for having to be online at certain times to get something that sells out in minutes has waned somewhat.

That's what I thought. That's £4 cheaper than the first box and about £11.80 a figure. I was expecting £80.
Oddness going on though. The listing now says it's a preorder due July 1st, but when I ordered earlier it didn't say that and I've already been charged. So was the listing put up wrong to start with, or was there an initial batch that sold and now they're selling a second shipment? Guess I'll have to wait and see if a shipping notice arrives in the next few d- oh, bank holiday weekend...

I have never had a Yodel delivery at that time of night. It's not going to happen.

I just had an email asking me to rate my yodel delivery, which seemed a bit odd because nothing had come. Except magically on the doorstep a box had appeared when I looked just now. It seems yodel do deliver this late!

Yes, I was tempted, but at that price? Also bear in mind that these are Droid Factory figures, which, are much smaller than the standard 3.5" figures. The Droid Factory figures used to be available in the Disney Stores (when they used to have physical stores) and were little blind packed figures that you assembled yourself, and which you could mix and match parts with. I think they used to be 3 or 4 quid, so 65 for a set of 6 seems... a little steep.
It may well be that these are standard 3.5" scale toys, and the product information suggests that they may well be, but the name and price gives me pause. And it's hard to tell from the pictures...
