Topic came up on the call last night as to how many of the original Kenner line have been redone now as Retro figures. It isn't a huge amount but will get a boost next year with 12 more. At that point it'll be 27 of the 96, plus the new figures of Tarkin & Luke as Speeder pilot. That's a wave of six from each of the three films, plus a box of six more from Star Wars to complete the original twelve, plus three Bounty Hunter Amazon exclusives.
Obviously there's also the nineteen new figures from Mandalorian/Obi-Wan and five of those multi coloured prototype figs.

I found I lost interest when it expanded from a nice wee 6-figure set once a year to loads of the buggers.
Jumping from £10-14 also made me pause.

It's not too bad if you ignore the Mando/Obi-Wan waves. Like Origins, I'm only really interested in stuff that was out in the 80s. That's only been 14 figures so far.

Both the Retro Bounty Hunter two-packs were due to be delivered today, having made their way over from amazon.com. UPS had one, which they've kept as no one was in, Evri had the other, which was handed over this evening.
The outer Amazon box was fine, but rattling around loose inside, the SIOC box for the figures was crushed at one end. The figures and their cards are okay, but the presentation box they come in is as knackered as the SIOC box housing it. Sigh. Can I be bothered to organise replacements and send these ones back? I should do. With postage these aren't cheap.

Managed to wrestle Dengar and IG88 off UPS today, thankfully with an unbashed box. Nice figures, but the backing cards on this line are so thin they warp and bend very easily. Pity they're not more like the Marvel ones. Even brand new they don't feel mint.

Lobot was very mint-feeling.

Got the box of SW retro figures out of the loft earlier. The cards are all warped. Should never have put it up there. I just wanted to compare the Fett in the Amazon twin-pack to the ESB wave one. They're identical. Only difference anywhere is the name of the other figures in the wave on the back. The new one just says Bossk, whereas the original has the other five figures in that wave.
Cheeky really. So the first twin pack has Dengar, which is new, and IG88 which is obviously the IG11 figure. But it's 88 in an 88 pack. The other pack is Bossk, which is new, and basically a reissue of Fett. Not really value for money that second set.

The card warping issue has been a problem for SW figures for several years. The loft has not been the cause.

Loft redeemed by Ralph!
Still, sort your shit out Hasbro.
I will take a closer look at this Fett situation as soon as these tests are marked.

Why is this new Endor Bunker set sixty quid? It's just a door. It doesn't even have the bunker attached to it.
Happy yet sad the AT-ST I predicted is Vintage. If that had been Black series I'd have had to buy it.

I was quite excited when I saw that, gave me some old school playset vibes. Then I realised there wasn't anything behind it. It's just a backdrop for the AT-ST really.

I have a Vintage Collection ROTJ Boba Fett and Vintage Collection Vedain on the way. Perfect for my small but perfectly formed Jabba's Palace collection.

Ah yes, the 6" version. Looks truly magnificent, but I'm not going down the 6" road. For Marvel/DC I like 'em big, but for Star Wars, I like 'em small. (but I do have a few small Marvel/DC 'cos they work better in Pony/Moshi cross-over events.) But if small Star Wars is your bag, then this new Boba Fett is simply sensational. Makes me realise how much I prefer his ROTJ decor over his TESB decor.

The, errm, well, Doc', ol' pal, the difference is in 'the size'. One is bigger than the other. To satisfy your action figure needs. It's not like the thing on Father Ted with the sheep; one of the Boba Fetts isn't further away from you. They really are different sizes.

Not the explanation I was expecting...
They do have different detailing and colours. I'm sure Jedi Fett also has a slightly different helmet.
