I'm just thinking about Hasbro's recent choices of characters for the Generations et al lines here in the Western Hemisphere.
We've had the likes of Bludgeon, Skullgrin, Thunderwing, Straxus... all characters from the Marvel comics that never appeared in any of the cartoons.
But what about those iconic characters from the old cartoons? Devcon, Alpha Trion, Nightbird, Dion... they don't seem to be getting a look in!
Of course, I'm not complaining! Long may the comic character love continue!

Alpha Trion and Dion have both been club/Botcon exclusives.
It's great the comics are getting attention. The cartoons have had more of an influence in the past.
Now if we could just a Comic Pack series like they did for Star Wars....

I suppose its because mostly the comic characters getting updates were toys originally. Just mostly overlooked. The cartoon never really tried to do anything outside of its core cast, what new characters introduced generally only got one episode also. We did get Acid Storm mind.
I expect now that Alpha Trion has been made one of the 13 a toy will eventually appear, but so will Leige Maximo too.
Beside hoping Impactor gets a toy soon another that might be on its way is Jhixaus. A few of us were having a mini moan about this years Botcon set on the club forum and the general lack of G2iness it suffered from despite being awesome.
This drew a few comments from the guys that worked on the set one of whom said Jhiaxus wasn't a option for the set. The wording suggested it wasn't their choice not to have him in, which leaves either no suitable mould being available or Hasbro said no because they have plans.
I'm hoping for the later.

Andy I'm think that as well, especially since he had a role in IDW, I mean other guys who had IDW roles lately have been getting new toys too, like Thunderwing and Straxus etc (so maybe we'll get some Wreckers soon too *crosses fingers*)

Some of the IDW Wreckers as "Generations" would be very lovely indeed.
I think I'd like a Guzzle the most. I love his design!

There have been many, many cartoon homages over the years (in design or colour scheme) so as primarily a fan of the comics it's nice to finally see comic characters/designs finally show up in the toyline. In an ideal world, we would have a balance of both when it comes to 'homages', to keep everyone happy.

I'd be up for some Mechanibals figures. Not exactly 'Transformers' got supporting cast of the comicsverse. And hows about a Jekka Amphitheatre / Planet Mil-wal playset too ===KEN
