Sad news. I can't claim to have seen a great deal of his output but Empire is one of my favourite films and by far the best of the Star Wars saga. Thunderball may not have been in need of a remake but I quite like Never Say Never Again as well.

You would think that they would bother mentioning the passing of the director of the second Star Wars film wouldn't you.
He was a good director and he will be much missed.

The lack of a mention on the official site is truly baffling and that pen is the tackiest bit of Star wars tat ever.
