You know those difficulty levels printed on the fronts of a lot of Transformers packs these days?
How representative do you think they are?
Does the difficulty level influence your decision to buy the toy?
Are you ever disappointed with the actual difficulty level of the toy?

I actually rarely look at those levels, and the harder the transformer, the more fun I find it quite often

Useless if difficulty level = size class.
But recently it's got a bit better.
But to make it realkly work they need to replace the numbers/symbols with a number of icons of RID Magnus according to how difficult it is.

Overly difficult toys are avoided by me. They just make me angry.

Are difficulty ratings actual ratings now? They always used to be just code as to the price of the toy. Like when Sideburn had a difficulty rating of 2/4, because he was a deluxe. Ho ho.

I think they are more reliable now, I mean Banzaitron was rank 4 but he's just a voyager (which would have been a 3 in the past i think)

Now that they are difficulty levels then they hold at least some diagnostic value. In the recent past all they told you was the size class of the toy, which I kind of already knew from the fact that it was in my hand.
On the other hand they are fundamentally useless to me as I buy transformers on the basis of aesthetics - if it is a complicated and frustrating toy it just means it will be transformed less often, if I like the looks of it then I will still do so whether it is complicated or simple. But that is just me, other folks mileage may vary.
