Sadly this film is not playing at my local cinema so far as I can see. If you get a chance to see it you must report back on what it is like.

It's a genuinely good film, going far beyond the gimmick premise to actually deliver a nice heartwarming and wryly amusing tale with excellent performances and just the right running time to tell the story. Also, it manages menace without resorting to pointless gore.
Well done, Finland!
I don't expect this to be in cinemas for long so get in quick.

A late candidate for film of the year. Highly enjoyable and I'd have to echo Ralph's sentiments - great to see menace, without the need for gore.

Pre-listed here on Play.com. This is pretty early considering most Christmas movies from a previous December don't end up on DVD pre-order until September at the earliest. As soon as orders are open I will be ordering a copy Someone I spoke to about this flick said this one would also be of interest. Not sure why, aside from the Finnish connection. It does look pretty decent and was dirt cheap (otherwise £24 on play) so I scooped it up.
