Are you happy to have Greenwich Mean Time in winter and British Summertime in summer? If not, what change would you make?

On balance, pretty much happy with the status quo. I've yet to hear an alternative that doesn't have unpleasant consequences for one part of the UK or another.
(I take it that this is prompted by the Private Members Bill doing the rounds about adopting Central European Time? As someone who lives in Scotland that idea irritates me somewhat - being as it would shift sunrise during winter months to 10am where I live......).

Yeah I'm happy as is. The Daily Express had some crazy campaign to move to GMT+2 for half the year I think in winter. It made a big fuss for a while and the would only casually mention that it would mean dark morning in the north. As if that was no big deal. In the morning between 8-9am everyone is heading to work and kids to school so yeah doing that at night would surely not result in accidents.
At least with the current system even if it is dark by 3pm kids are leaving school and then the workers are leaving 5pm onwards so its in two seperate waves.

I'm quite happy with it. There's something splendid about that extra hour in bed in the winter months. I'd hate to lose that.

I hate the change and the dark nights, but you're going to get dark nights anyway, and I'd rather have the day light, such that it is, in the morining for the school run. So it probadily should stay as it is.
