Dave, you've just been Exalted. Well done. Gloriana is indeed the name of a fictional queen, in the book of the same title by Michael Moorcock. Ah Moorcock. That would explain it. Having read precious little Moorcock I guess I didn't have the right data points to start from. So. The midpoint of the week - sees me making progress with a few things, but a bit of inertia starting to bog things down once more. But what is really noticeable is how the supermarkets are starting to fill up. Already I am seeing more than the usual numbers of folk, carting around more than the usual amounts of stuff. It isn't at the "everybody pulling around two trolleys level", that'll come next week. But the madness has clearly begun. Karl

It's worth a read Karl. You'll find the physical desciption of Gloriana remarkably similar to me, except I'm not 6 foot 6 inches tall. Sorry the supermarket seems to be into the "arrgh Chrismas" mode. Best wishes of course to Graham for a speedy recovery. Sympathies to all those with noisy neighbours. I'm off to print out 20 lesson plans....

Nearly finished all my Christmas food. Mince pies, crisps, nuts. Booze thankfully almost untouched.

Rather annoyingly, have been sneezing my head off this evening. Inbetween, I did some writing and watched some Doctor Whooooooooooooooooooo.

Finally feeling better after yesterday decided to have some fajitas for tea (turkey as opposed to the usual - worked rather well) watched the finale of Heroes on BBC2.

Mrs Shockprowl makes some lovely fajitas with quorn and spinach. Hmmm, fajitas...
One day week for Shockprowl. Well, I am working the wkend, but only today during the actually working week, so I'm telling myself I've only got a one day week! Mrs Shockprowl has one of her TWO work's Christmas dos tmw (starting at 1500!) so I obtained an extra restday form the nice Sandra in Resource in order to look after Piglet.
I'm nervous as I slip ever closer to my Birthday. At 34, I'll be officially entering my mid-thirties, crumbs.
Had nice coupla rest days with Piglet. Her fave trick at the mo is to walk rapidly around in a tight circle (with her red wellies on her hands, ofcourse) untill she gets dizzy, then she staggers about, falling over, laughing to herself. Strange child.
I purchased a new toothbrush from Morereasons, which, in the shop, looked red. Got it home and it was actually pink. Do'h.

A bit of a wasted day due to last nights vokda related japery. Managed a bracing walk and my weekly badminton game. Sadly it was just me and Annie (who is very good and I am not) so I got humped. Of course I was worse than normal but I still would have been humped anyway. Andy Are you suggesting you enjoyed an activity other than badminton ? You may have noticed my abscence. Things went a bit Tnago Ultra on Tuesday night when Jonathan started projectile vommiting again. Which continued Wednesday morning. At which point Mum was summoned home a day early. He's not been sick since 2:30 yesterday afternoon so we think we've beaten it. The child of the person who was looking after him Tuesday has the same symptoms, and the doctor says he's seen 6 or 7 similar cases in the last few days.

She is a long-time friend and former girlfriend of one of my closest friends - which means that kind of shenanigans is forever out of bounds! Sorry to hear Jonathan was ill, sounds like he's over the worst of it though, which is good.

We should use 'humped' more often.
Full mobility in my unwell extremity. Doesn't make it any less sore. Apparently can't sleep heavily because I can't get comfortable. I'm knackered.
Getting ready for an apparently quite big indoor model car meeting the weekend after next. Tyres ordered. Parts coming to replace worryingly cracked chassis. New motor appears to be not so punchy, but revs incredibly high.
First school friend to hit thirty occurs this weekend. Will be mullered. He will be sad.

I'm a big fan of the word humped, doesn't get used half as much as it should in modern conversation. Nor does the word wibble.
Glad ankle getting better Elliott. Last time I twisted my ankle it turned green. What exciting colour is yours at the mo?
Thirty? Seems a long time ago... (ah, listen to me!)
Incredibly busy today. Only enough time to throw the odd post at the Hub! The Emergency Dept at hospital is packed! Don't know what's going on!

Thankyou ShockProwl. I had a yellow phase for this twist of my ankle with small purple accents below each ankle bone. Isn't green the colour between yellow and purple in the bruising colour chart?
I will follow my friend Kev to 30 in May. By the time our other friend Dave gets married for the second time next October, Kev will be almost 31.

Payres is soooo old! Well, slightly older than me anyway, which makes me feel better.
I think the colours of sprains tend to vary victim to victim. They're very painfull, as much as a break and can take longer to heal, if there's bad ligament damage. Last time I sprained mine was during an aerobics class. Didn't live that down at work for a while.
Home now for beer and cuddles from Piglet and Mrs Shockprowl. What a busy day!

I shall be 30 next June. I do not look forward to it. I've already found myself ruminating that such and such that I wanted to happen by the time I turned 30 hasn't occurred yet, etc.

I think everyone gets that way, I have to say though having been 30 since April I don't feel any different. It's just one of these milestone birthdays that people apply all sorts of pressure and ritual to for no discernable reason.

Yup.
The most enjoyable New Year's Eve's for me have been the last couple where instead of the wank parties and pub shenanigans I've been esconced at the good Kaptain's house with drink and banter with the boys.
Much more enjoyable.

Jonathan is continuing his week of horror. Now we have liquid flowing from his botty (down his trouser leg, onto the living room carpet while Mum was out) and screaming because of his teeth.
Liz has done her back in.
I wanted a rest afer the last few days, no such luck. V tired and in huge ammounts of pain tonight.

Sorry to hear that Johnathan isn't doing so well, and about Liz's back. Hope things improve soon. Good to hear that your foot is beginning to improve though Elliott.
I've had one of those days you just chalk up as "Abort, Fail, Retry?" I didn't even start what I went into the office to do until 14:15. And then got called away to sort something else out about an hour later. I shall take another run at things tomorrow when hopefully it shall run a little smoother.
The last few new years have been pretty good fun. Hopefully the upcoming one will continue the pattern.

Hope little Jonathan improves soon. Any doubts and get him into A&E. Horrible when they get poorly like that. Thankfully, touch wood alot, Piglet's only had one bad virus a while back that gave her terrible squirty poo.
In for two lates tonight and tmw. Steady start tonight since 1600 'cos the crew we were releiving had a late job and were still out. No other Ratchet for us to go on, so kicking our heels (and posting on the Hub) 'til they got back. We're 'HOT' now though! I can hear the drunk little boys and girls guzzeling their alco-pops as I type. Maybe the rain'll get 'em off home to bed ok tonight. Often does.
So, who is the eldest current Hubber? Poor Mr. Ayres is a staggering 35, I'm right behind him, so to speak, at 34 (in 1 and a bit days! Eeek!). Lots seem to be 30, and a few like good ol' Doc are still children in their twenties (damn them). Who's the eldest? Who is king (or queen) of the wrinklies?!
