Pertwee TARDIS secured!
My god, the scare stories about these on GB and the mental 90 quid eBay prices brought about by scaremongering. Patience paid off. My B&M had dozens of them tonight along with all the other sets.

Aye. It's the Fourth Doc TARDIS with a Pertwee coat of paint. Door opens but there's no electronics.

Obviously Character have done lights and sounds TARDISes for the new era Doctors which have bells and whistles like internal card backdrops and lights, but they did a basic shell with an opening door for the classic line and changed the top with minor remoulds to get a Fourth, First and Seventh out of it: There was a Fifth on the drawing board too but it didn't get past a prototype (that turned up on eBay a while back). B&M have used the mould for the Fourth Doctor and given it an admittedly pretty good paint finish, much better than the originals. It's annoyed some people though as it has a black base, which seems to be a reference to an obscure appearance. I gave up reading about that but apparently the TARDIS is in shot in the Time Monster somewhere and it looks like the rim around the bottom is painted black.

Aaaand in the Classic line, the Master's TARDIS is represented by the Computer Bank from the Time Monster, the Grandfather Clock from Traken and the Doric Column from Castrovalva.

I have never paid attention or noticed that the outer shell has changed over the years. It always looks exactly the same to my eyes. I've only ever noticed it has apparently changed in the show when I see fans screaming murder about it.
Blue box with a light on top. That's all it needs to be.

I have. I kept an eye on my local B&M at the time they were due out and found one relatively easily in the end. I can look again if you like, but this was a month ago.

What are you all looking for? Just the TARDIS set, or any of the figure packs?
I knew I should have bought a handful of the TARDIS sets when I saw them, but I didn't want to be left with them because usually if I find things they're available everywhere.

The TARDIS set. I'm not sure if I need it so I wish to see one in the wild to check.

The 13th Doc in the 5.5" line is out now. Sad to see a single figure, but at least it means all the Doctors are represented in that range. Even if the scale has gone a bit wonky since Capaldi's figure. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07KSP1TR1

B&M have snuck out another TARDIS set early. Apparently they have new three figure packs due in the summer like the last few years, but they've got this one in shops now: merchandise.thedoctorwhosite.co.uk/5-5%E2%80%B3-bm-2019-regenerated-4th-doctor-tardis-set/For anyone who cares (don't think anyone really does with these?) this is a slight repaint of the exclusive Tom figure that came with the Tom Baker Time Capsule DVD set several years ago (the box that had the early vanilla release of Zygons with some other tat) and a reissue of his TARDIS (no electronics) with different details (the POLICE BOX across the top is black writing on white as opposed to the original, which was the other way round, and the phone panel is different) Original Tom from Time Capsule set and the original TARDIS colours: B&M have also restocked last year's three packs, but rather irritatingly have tweaked the decos on several figures. The most notable change is the Talons of Weng Chiang Tom, which now has the right legs (the original release bizarrely had Jon Pertwee's knee boots painted grey to look like trousers, the figure now has the right leg pieces). In that set the Brig's uniform is slightly more yellow in colour than the original. Last year's version:

The 11th and 12th Doctor sets have some mild variants too.
I picked them all up for an American friend

Indeed. Less to worry about there though. Oswin's lost her belt, Amy has paint differences so marginal they're not really noticeable and Bill has different coloured boots and a stripe down her trousers. I think if I was going for an alternate Bill I'd just go for the Amazon one.

If I must.
So I opened the figures and had then standing on the glass plinth on my computer desk which I have my iMac on. In front and underneath this plinth I often have a cup of tea sitting.
So I was sitting typing away and hit the side of my desk with knee which knocked the figures down, and Oswin fell into my cup of tea. I quickly fished her out and set to work drying the figure and removing the tea. Now Oswin's dress is rubbery plastic so as I was cleaning, I made sure there was no tea underneath and found that they have painted the crotch area of said toy white. WHITE? Instead of the same red as the dress.
Why have you given this toy white pants character? WHY, WHY?

Well you wouldn't want her to be naked under there, would you?
(Pinwig is now wondering how many versions of this mould he has, and how many are wearing pants).

She's in Asylum of the Daleks and that's it.
