Ordered!
Double the price of the usual B&M repaint sets, yes, but this is a lights and sounds TARDIS with a Troughton figure that features a lot of new moulding. It's a lot better value for money than the thirty quid they charged last year for two identical Daleks that only had new ears.

Interesting, Al Dewar has made a post on one of the forums to say the Troughton figure in this set is a proper exclusive and won't appear anywhere else. So it isn't one of the figures in the forthcoming B&M Five Doctors set after all...

Who cares about Five Doctors. If the Marinus set does not have Yartek I will destroy both this world and the world to come.

Well as we know the Sensorites set has the First Elder in it, it would be a little remiss not to have Yartek in the Marinus one.

May have red hazed during pre-interview stress when I realised the outfit means it can double as a 5Docs Pat. This will be my 4th TARDIS... -Ralph

The must-haves for me would be if they did a TV Movie McGann with TARDIS and a Time War McGann with TARDIS.
The ultimate pack would be a Valeyard and TARDIS.

Their address is Oldham so I suppose anyone round Manchester would get a quick delivery. Second class for me at the mo usually takes a week so I'm not panicking yet. It was sent recorded so it should be okay.
Gone out of stock now on the CO website. Online basket fiddlers reckon they had about 4000. Seems a low run to me.

The amount of new moulding in these sets is slowly starting to grow, but it's worth pointing out that Ian is just John Simm's Master with a new head. And iirc the torso piece for that came from Ben Millar's Primeval figure, and the legs are off the original Season 12 Tom Baker figure!

My sister in law's hubby sometimes does IT work for Character. He has strict orders to blag freebie DW stuff if he is needed back there. When he sorted out a sausage factory's systems they gave him loads of free sausages.

A new mould for his robe would probably break the bank. This wave is surprising in that the reuse of figures that was spread over two waves last year is now inside one wave.
If you take out Hartnell as a straight repaint you've got two reused bodies but then two pairs of new feet, four new heads including both Voords, the Sensorite tool, Voord dagger, the Elder's sash and the Voord's strap/belt. That's a lot of new parts for figures that ultimately look very similar.
Of course in the next wave we can look forward to a Sensorite with a moustache.

You have to wonder... Well you don't really but I do, what this means for the next two waves. Will they reuse figures from this wave or will wave 2 contain its own reused figures?
We're looking at an Earthshock set and a Five Doctors set.
I reckon there's a strong chance the Voord body will get reused as an Earthshock android with a new head, which will then get repainted as a Raston robot in the Five Doctors set (there's also a Raston on the backdrop in the Furry Trout set). People seem to think the Hartnell doc body will get a new Hurndall head which does make sense, but new tooling would mean the head would need at least one reuse and I can't see how you could do more than one Hurndall figure. The Cybermen are in both stories so there's probably one of those in one or both sets. Going by how these things seem to work there has to be a standout figure somewhere in there and the current trend is for companions, so Tegan seems to make sense if they can find the right body parts. Tegan also spent time with Hurdall's doc. But frustratingly not the Raston warrior robot.
Somewhere in there are the next two sets coming in the next couple of months. I'll go for:
Earthshock: Android Tegan Cyberman repaint variant
Five Doctors: Raston robot Tegan variant or Sarah Jane variant Hurndall or Third Doctor repaint

There's also a first doctor and TARDIS set on the cards from the rumours. If that's a doctor and TARDIS like usual it could be a Hurndall reuse, but there have been TARDIS and three figure sets before now, which would be an amazing way to do Barbara with a first doc repaint and an Ian variant. That would be mind blowing.

To do the Raston Warrior properly there would just be a blank space in the box as it moves so fast it cannot be seen until it strikes.

The sculpt for Ian looks a bit better than the finished figure, just like the Zygons Tom last year.

I felt sure the Sensorites would drop while I was on holiday just to annoy me, but it seems B&M customer services have said they're due into their central warehouse on Monday and will begin distribution from then. So end next week at the earliest.
