History of the Daleks #4 arrived today. I am in too deep now. I'll buy anything that says 'History of the Daleks' on it.
I never bothered buying Character Dalek toys before. They figured out how to get me.

They're really good though. Fantastic scale model Daleks. I love em to bits. Which is why I have, err, 61 of them apparently. Plus the new series ones, which must be at least another twenty or so.
Reading the forums, two things have come to light: Al Dewar has said the Planet set is set one, which tells us History #9 will be the Plamnet Supreme and the half invisible one. Presumably for cost saving, this time round it was easier to knock out more Day drones than it was to worry about the paint apps needed for the other two. Thing two: apparently there is a 50/50 split in the Five Doctors set of standard Cybermen and the black handlebarred leader. The promo picture makes it look like there's been some texturing on the boots since the last time they were used, but it might be just paint. If they're unchanged that means the standard Cyberman will be the same figure that was in the 2017 B&M Monsters three pack (with the Tomb Controller and randomly a new series Sontaran), but the Cyberleader will be a variant because we've not had a black handledbarred version of that figure.
If the split is true and the paint job is different enough to the last one to warrant being called a variant, I would imagine there will be a surplus of Five Doctors Pertwees and Rastons on eBay because people will be wanting both Cybermen.

Wandering back a few years, these are the other two Planet Daleks that have been done and will presumably be Set #9 next year. Having checked I didn't realise the Supreme hasn't been reissued since it's original release in 2008. And this is why the new Day gold Dalek is cool, the previous version had a black neck and so wasn't screen accurate. That said, compared to screen caps, the new one might be *too* gold.

I presume set #10 will be Death to the Daleks?
I'm trying to work how many History of the Daleks sets there could be, especially if they go on to cover stories from 2005-2021.

#10 should be. That will probably be two silver Daleks, one with a machine gun arm one with a normal arm. Genesis was originally a four pack when it came out: Davros, the Doctor and two different grey drones. There could be any number of different combinations. Destiny had a four pack with two light grey Daleks that had different bases, but there was a separate release that had a suicide Dalek with the bombs round it.
New series there are loads and loads if you go into all the obscure ones they've done like the stone effect Paradigm one from the Pandorica story.

Yes, that had is own 'dirty repaints' set at the time. Even I didn't buy that one. It didn't have any classic Daleks.

Making Daleks bobble while working is very satisfying.
The 'also available' booklet is a mesmerising journey into tat. Is the world ready for 'Are You Being Served' bobble buddies?
