Watched a lot of films on TV in my two and a bit weeks off. Here are the ratings:
1. Enchanted (quite took me by surprise, especially the live-action musical numbers - the lead performances are exceptional) 2. Around the World in 80 Days (David Niven) (highly entertaining and lavish adaptation of the Jules Verne novel) 3. Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country* (it's all good) 4. King Solomon's Mines (Richard Chamberlain/Sharon Stone/Herbert Lom) (knowingly ridiculous 1980s Indiana Jones knock-off) 5. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull* (respectable attempt to recapture the magic of old) 6. The Incredible Hulk (much, much better than the previous 'Hulk', but not a patch on the two related 'Iron Man' films - far less fun) 7. The Spiderwick Chronicles (imaginative and creepy) 8. Ghostbusters 2* (not as bad as I'd remembered it) 9. Star Trek V: The Final Frontier* (has its moments - I like the camping out scenes, so sue me) 10. Harry Potter and the Something-or-other (not following this series properly - just seen the odd couple of films and they don't mean an awful lot to me) 11. The Living Daylights* (the most forgettable of Bond films) 12. Catwoman (as bad as reported)
*seen before
May edit the list after a couple more this afternoon.

I have loads of Christmas stuff to watch on the Sky + and still cycling through it all. I mainly watched cheesy TV budget movies on Christmas 24.
(subject to change)
1. Christmas in Wonderland (Patrick Swayze, Tim Curry, Carmen Electra) 2. The Town That Christmas Forgot 3. Chronicles of Narnia: Lion Witch and the Wardrobe 4. Sister Act 5. National Lampoons Christmas Vacation 6. Deck The Halls (Steve Bacic) 7. Eve's Christmas 8. It's a Wonderful Life 9. Miracle on 34th Street (original) 10. It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year (Henry 'the Fonz' Winkler)
Non-Movie Honourable Mentions of Christmas TV.
1. Just William 2. The Nativity 3. Nigel Slater's Christmas Suppers 4. Little Crackers series (Bill Bailey, Jo Brand, Stephen Fry, Dawn French, Jullian Barratt) 5. The Gruffalo (read this story several times to the children at work) 6. Dr Who 2008 Christmas Special repeat 7. Rock and Chips

Missed Enchanted must find my dvd of it.
Finally saw Its a Wonderful Life, somehow I've never seen it before or not since I was so young I didn't know what it was. Star Trek (2009) twice. Avatar Avatar extended edition Not on tv but Muppet Christmas Carol about 5 or 6 times I think Miracle on 34th Street original The Santa Claus 1, 2 and 3. Narnia
probably more that I aren't remembering though less than normal as I've been getting highly addicted to a new book I started a few weeks back.

Enchanted is great film, which is some admission from me. -10 cool points. Randomly first saw it on a pirate copy it in a cafe / bar in Bali, while killing time before flying to New Zealand +50 cool points:)
Have you seen Stardust, Martin? The only recent live action film to better it for feel good charm imo.

At the time it was out the people promoting it in the UK made a big deal out of Ricky Gervais' role in it, which put me off since I'm not a fan. However, I do intend to watch it properly on TV at some point. Martin

Random Enchanted trivia.
The animated sections weren't done by disneys animation department but were partially responsible for convincing certain people at disney cel animation still had a place in modern cinema.

Enchanted wouldn't have worked anywhere near as well if the animated sections had been CG. Having said that, the superbly exaggerated live-action performances by Amy Adams and James Marsden made their animated incarnations look pretty dull and lifeless by comparison, they were so good.
