Apparently this is test footage from Warner Bros for a CGI animated Thundercats film. It seems though the project went no further than this clip:

I remember hearing about the cgi film....don't like Lion - O being so full of himself as in that clip but it would have made for a really cool film to see...shame it got shelved.

Oh, I don't know. He was quite cocky, through youth and inexperience. At least at first. No doubt he would have learned a lot during the course of the film and been less arrogant and more humble by the end. Interesting to see the clip.

I was watching some original episodes last night. All the episodes I've watched so far have been familiar even having not watched most of them for 20+ years; some I've even been able to quote as the characters were speaking! But one of yesterday's episodes I have no recollection of whatsoever, The Garden of Delights. The plot involved (spoiler warning!!) a character being tricked into eating an addictive hallucinogenic fruit, which leaves me to wonder if the BBC chose not to show it - this was the year of Grange Hill's "Just Say No", after all. It seemed like the episode was intended as an anti-drugs tale, but the message didn't really come across. In fact the whole episode wasn't really well executed; it felt rushed and there was a lot of plot that wasn't well explained, with the audience left to fill in a lot of blanks. It's a pity really, as there was a decent story in there that could have been a good two-parter.

Fairly sure that was a fairly widespread episode back in the day, no idea if it was ever on the bbc or not though. It is a bit of a weird episode!

It was on the beeb, I still have the videotape somewhere where my mum taped it off the tv for me. She used to tape all the old cartoons and carefully label up the video tapes with the episodes on them. It's only later looking back when I realised how awesome this was of her.

I was at Uni when Beast Machines was on and Mam taped it every day for me, bless her.
Strange I don't remember that one episode.

Going to watch the new show pilot later. Expect a Spoiler Tag bonanza if I post here after.

Saddled with the typical american writing disease where there is the obligatory son disappointing his father plotline. That aside really good. Enjoyed it and looking forward to later episodes. Andy

Agree with Mr. T, foo'! It sets up quite a lot in the pilot... themes and sub themes, and they also tease us with the return of old traditions not yet seen.

Watched it over a second time. Was that Lynx O who detected the lizard army approaching?

Watched 17 minutes and switched off due to boredom. Very well made, but not my cup of tea at all. Very generic.
But hey, watching via *cough* means so can't really complain!

Who knows. I never made it that far, but saw enough of the premise to know it's not the kind of thing that interests me.

Jaga's not a ghost. He is the chief cleric and is pretty much the same pastoral figure to Lion O all the same ===KEN

I watched episode 3 this morning and I fond it a let down after the greatness of last week, but that was always going to happen.
The biggest disappointment was the lack of theme music, though that may just be the version I saw where the intro lasted about 3 seconds. Though saying that maybe that is the best thing they could do as nothing could live up to the greatness of the original theme.

That 3 second intro may be an edit down.
Was hoping for Berserkers when the ship appeared.

Details of ep4 have been thrown around online freely without a spoiler tag or anything, but I was very happy with what I have seen.
3 episodes in and I am still really enjoying this newer take on Thundercats.

I did enjoy episode 3 more on second viewing. I think what disappointed me was that i had waited all week in anticipation to how good/bad the open theme tune would be for it to only be non existent.
Like yourself Ken I was also expecting the Berserkers, so a ship full of fish people was a bit WTF.
I have really enjoyed the reboot, especially the animation is superb. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but you can't fault the quality of the animation.
Due to the new series I have also been watching the sets of the original series over the past week, though I only have Season 1 volume one and season two volume two.

The floating plate of food was a bit weird.
I also enjoyed ep3 more on second viewing too. The sea monster itself was quite a spectacle.
