Or Rapunzel as it was originally titled... Went to see this film with George yesterday after it won a coin toss between that and The King's Speech. Really good film which found a common ground between cgi and the look of Disney designs. For me, I felt it had a lot of old-school Disney spirit in there with the usual character cliches of the princess character, the love interest, the sidekick, the useful animals, the villain and the support cast. This film could have easily been another 2D offering, but Disney pulled off something special and slightly different. The CGI aspect make the look of the movie have an oil paint like palette that suited the setting and characters perfectly. Apart from Rapunzel, the film is also told from the perspective of Flynn Ryder the main protagonist and narrator. Hence why the film was re-titled Tangled. The musical aspect of this film is pretty weak and sadly unlike a lot of previous Disney offerings there isn't anything 'catchy' that stays. The songs could have easily been left out. Best scene in the movie was seeking refuge at the Snuggly Duckling pub. I will never look at a frying pan the same way again.

Saw it in 2D last week. Really enjoyable with good characters. The take on the animal characters was refreshing. Personally thought a few of the songs weren't bad. Its been a long time since a Disney soundtrack that was really great, probably The Lion King. In comparison to everything since it was decent if a bit to show tuney.
