Which "monsters" are the best? (That is, Transformers with animal-like alternate modes that aren't obviously based on Earth animals.)

Shouldn't the Seacons be in there, by the way? Are they kinda monstery? Sea-monstery? I'm not sure myself, like, just pondering. The Firecons as well now I think about it!

Out of those three choices, I've always liked the Monsterbots.

I missed the boat on the Monsterbots. Out all I only familiar with The Terrorcons from that selection. I first owned Blot when my nan bought him for me for Christmas in 87 and the September prior I had Sinnertwin from Children's World. Even prior to that I got a taste for Terrorcons when a classmate brought the dino-chicken Cutthroat in. Never seen Hunn Grr or Rippersnapper in the plastic. What's this I hear about Terrorcons week? Who started that idea? ===KEN

I owned Blot when I was a kid, so my alliegance here is clear. The Terrorcons must pulverise this poll!

I missed the boat on the Monsterbots. We all did. They were art of the shed load of 87 toys not released in the UK. Never seen Hunn Grr or Rippersnapper in the plastic. Well you know where you need to come to then....

I owned Blot when I was a kid, so my alliegance here is clear. This is an unfair poll. Most people voting have probably never held a Monsterbot in their hands. Nor have I, but I think they look pretty decent - and the toys apparently shoot sparks from their mouths Firecon-style when a certain button is pressed. Martin

I have held a Monsterbot and they're great, much better than the Predacons.

I have never owned any, but have had a shot of them and they are rather fun toys. They are a bit pricey on the secondary market though, alas.

I got one (Doublecross, the chap on the left) in the Barras market in Glasgow of all places, and have encountered the other two through Toy-fu. They are pretty good, scramble-city-leader sized figures. I think Repugnus is my favourite. They're really expensive on the secondary market and hard to find with their guns. And I'm not just saying that because I'm hocking them!

If I could have one it would be Doublecross.

I have all 3, they're great. Doublecross would be better if the spark came out the monster mouths instead of the chest, but I can see why they don't.

I've long admired the Monsterbots, especially Grotusque (which for a long time as a child I mispronounced as Grot-uss-kew), but as has been pointed out, they're not the cheapest; Grotusque is difficult and expensive to find with his wings. All three were on eBay the other day at good prices, but as the seller used pictures from a website rather than of the actual toys, I decided not to bid.
