1.8 "Con Job"

The "evil clone" plot comes to Transformers Prime, and so does the Autobot called Wheeljack. Be warned, this isn't your father's Wheeljack, here an old war horse and an ex-Wrecker, just like Bulkhead.

The script handles the well-trodden plot well, and the exploration of friendships between the Autobots is worth watching. But really, this episode, despite all the references to past Transformers lore, is just treading water.

Starscream's Decepticons make more of a showing than last episode, but just barely.

Ratchet and Bulkhead are the characters to watch; the only highlights in this otherwise by the numbers tale.

I find it baffling how we are told the cast is so, so small because of the high cost of CGI levels, yet we've already had two episodes that introduce new characters only to have them die / go away forever at the end.

Maybe all these models will return for the season finale.

Watchable, but nothing to write home about and the 'new character/creature appears then leaves' format is wearing a bit thin with me.

Would like to see more of this different Wheeljack.

Even if its unlikely, I want to see more antics from Makeshift again and if he has an individual form.

This was Blaise's first Transformers cartoon and she happily sat in my lap and watched it though not knowing what was going on.

I hope we do see Wheeljack again. He kind of reminded me of Depth Charge, but with swords.

Playing catch up here. Jackie is great and the first animated Wrecker to boot (well technically Bulkhead was) and exactly how I'd expect a member of that group to move and behave and fight.
