Had a couple of busy weeks (though I don't seem to have done much) but relaxing now and catching up on what I've missed.

Seem to be over the worst of my flu. Even the nose is becoming normal again - finally. Solid nights of sleep here I come. Hopefully back at work later this week. Plenty of work reading to catch up on at home in the mean time.
I will have vengeance upon Burns.

Long-time forum members will recall I had a bad 3 years not that long ago. You may also recall I was in a 'pays silly money but the stress was making me ill' job for around 9 months. Well today I used the last moneyleft over from that to renew the lease on the flat until mid-November. I knew this would happen due to stupid letting agency rules (they insist on a letter from an employer proving a permanent position of at least 6 months which I am unable to do as I changed jobs less than 6 months ago even though I have been a reliable and steady tenant previously). So the money was put to good use. I am now cleaned out and so better financial prudence is now required from now on, but in a good way for I feel this last thing has finally put a full stop to The Bad Time. I can now draw a line under the whole sorry business at last. I may even try 'dating' again soon. Who knows.
I doubt I'd be able to stay on here after November but by then it will have been 2 years both in the flat and Edinburger so it might be time for a change then anyway.

Some bad news though: earlier today I dropped an entire toilet roll into the toilet! (I hate it when that happens). Also, the wrist strap on my Marvel Legends Thor snapped off!!! Dear God!

There can be something very productive about drawing a line under a period in ones life sometimes. The sense of closure can act as a bit of a spur to other aspects of life.
Decided today that I need to be buying new shoes. I have been putting this off for a long time as due to the strange shape of my feet (a family trait on my mothers side - we all seem to have been assembled with a few actuators and pivots out of the usual place. It makes field maintenance a real bear) it is always an involved and frustrating process getting shoes that I can comfortably wear - especially as there are only three outlets in the whole of Scotland that actually carry the brand I can still buy off the rack in as bricks and mortar store and the range is often very limited. Might experiment with one of the online supplies that my aunt used to use - they seemed to be quite good for her so might be of some assistance.

Nice one, Doc'. You're like Postman Pat I'm sure comparing Ralph to a postman is just the sort of compliment he dreams of receiving. Some bad news though: earlier today I dropped an entire toilet roll into the toilet! (I hate it when that happens). The seriousness of that incident depends whether it was a clean toilet or a used one. Not that I want to know. Martin

What a horrible night.... summoned to Jonathan's room at 11:40, he and I had trouble getting back off. At 1:40 woke up with most horendous pain in lower limbs unable to move. Wife summoned.
When we got me off the floor I Crawled to bathroom where I pulled myself up. Half an hour there getting balance back, down the stairs on my bottom to get hot drink and then back to bed c3am.
Feel better this morning..... if better is defined as lower limbs merely feel like they have a cold fire running through them. 3 and a bit hours to get myself sorted for chronic pain course (haha)
So all prayer appreciated today guys. If it was up to me it'd be straight back to bed and nothing for the rest of the day but I have to go out.

Ah. Further progress this morning reveals my tummy is not 100% happy with something I ate yesterday. That explains what was going on last night as the CMT has a habit of producing odd reactions when other things are wrong with me. That's probably put the kibosh on the trip to the pain course though.

Some bad news though: earlier today I dropped an entire toilet roll into the toilet! (I hate it when that happens). The seriousness of that incident depends whether it was a clean toilet or a used one. Not that I want to know. Martin It was unused. Almost an entire roll unused. Such a... waste.

lunch today involved the same food that I think caused the odd effects on Monday night. Sure enough I'm experiencing very similar symptoms to then. Taken pain killers, about to get in hot bath in an attempt to physically control what's going on. All Prayer appreciated
Though quite why the CMT should produce such effects from eating Danish Blue Cheese and/or Choritzo I'm not sure.

Hope you are feeling better today Phil. Well done on drawing a line under the previous few years Ralph. Onwards and upwards. Today my stylus for my ipad arrived, having fun before work. Weirdness between me and female work colleague (the one I manned up and let know I was interested in and it came to nothing) seems to have passed. Which is good, wouldn't want to lose a friend over things.

Yeah not doing bad today. Pain killers, hot water bottle, a bath and some prayer brought it under control last night and I got a decent night's sleep.
Lunch at Bottelinos. They finally had the Casatta Ice Cream on!

As mentioned the other week, the road outside is being dug up. Then it was the other side of the road so it was just noisy but today I returned home to find they've moved over to my side.
This is surprising as it had been said it was just the one side that needed doing - although admittedly not by the people doing the work. Anyway the big problem was the gaping hole in the pavement and large digger preventing me from getting inside.
Feeling impatient I decided to cut through next door - a basically abandoned house with severely overgrown garden. It seemed like a good idea at the time but it wasn't. I got entangled in the plant life and once I had made it to safety I spent half an hour picking thorns out of various body parts.

I still hadn't heard back about my job application and as it said I would be contacted either way and the interview date stated in only 6 days away I decided to phone up and see what was going on. Apparently they still haven't sorted through the applications fully and no one has been contacted meaning the interview date will also be pushed back too.
It means I'm still in with a shot but also I'm stuck on hold for a few more weeks and the wait is now starting to get to me.
In other news my Denists finally sent a referral to hospital, after much complaining by me, that should have gone a year ago. So now I should have an appointment within 6 weeks.
