Well, given my shaky finances and job situation, and the fact I've been selling off most of my Animated, that's one set that I won't feel the urge to pick up!
Unless they do any non-animated addons of course!

The customising class is full.

Got into the customising class which I am regretting a little.
On line registration was a bit shaky at the start due to being overloaded, but I was one of the lucky ones who made it through completely.
50% sold in under 12 hours is terrifyingly fast. I guess the PCP sell out last year has freaked out all the people who usually don't rush.

Sitting in a room always feels like a wasted day when I think how much I'm paying to travel there and the other stuff I could be doing. Sometimes I end up regretting it, sometimes I don't. But the possibility that the figure could be an unassembled AMTC (assuming that is one of the add ons) was enough to clinch it.

I'm curious. How many people that attend the classes are actually interested in customising and how many are there for an extra toy?

I've seen one or two people get up and leave with the bagged toy, but most people try making it and most seem to enjoy it. I think a lot of it is the extra toy, which is one of the reasons I wish they would only use toys in their retail colour schemes as they did for the first two years. Inferno and Frenzy look great as did Overkill if anyone actually was able to put it together.
Not that I'm complaining about G2 Sideswipe, but we could have got an almost identical result using red alert as a base for only some fairly easy to apply black onto the white. It would have looked about 90% as great but wouldn't have annoyed the other 99.9999% of fans that didn't get one and caused less of a rush of people trying to get in this year.

I've seen one or two people get up and leave with the bagged toy Really? Is that not awkward and a bit rude?

I hope no-one has issues trying to register. Amusingly, this e-mail from TFCC says: 'We have turned the phones off in order to prepare for GIJoeCon which is next week at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel'.
Might not have been wise to put the Botcon reg up the week before the other major con they run...
Actually, it boggles the mind.

Ralph, I just logged in to report exactly the same thing! Good planning from them, there, eh?
Loose sets are sold out.

I've seen one or two people get up and leave with the bagged toy Really? Is that not awkward and a bit rude? There was a moment were 30 plus other people in to room all gradually became aware of what was happening and collectively went what the hell. Others are more sneaky and go with a friend or family member and between them only build one figure of the two figures. I have to admit I haven't built one completely since the first year. Overkill is in a box in about 100 pieces. If you want an entertaining rant at AA ask Mark Graham about his Overkill once he's had a few. 2009 Thunderclah I never finished because I have a plan to make a better thunderclash than came in the boxset so I put it aside in case I ever get around to it. And last year I did build Sideswipe and paint it but without fitting any pins as thats the bit that causes damage. But I do always dismantle them and partially put them together at least I try.

That's very impressive! I imagine they will be easy to pick up at the Con though

And they essentially sold out of boxsets. In 6 days. I blame PCP for the speed, though location, movie and Animated will have helped.
I dread to think how fast Ramjet and Cheetor will go now that the must order quickly attitude has been reinforced.

We could be heading for MattyCollector levels of madness.

I hope we don't head to the Mattycollector side of things, but given the way fun pub do things at times I have a strong suspicion that is where we are headed.
