As do I.
I need to cut back on certain things as the effect of having a lower income in real terms than this time last years starts to bite. Thus, I must pass on KREO. I shall steal Turnbull's instead!

Why is there no Transformers: Kreo advent callender? A minifig behind every door with Santamus Prime on Christmas Eve. I'd buy that!

Give them time. Lego only started doing them a year or two ago!
Somebody bought the last Lego City advent calendar in TRU yesterday. Good thing he did or I'd have had it myself at the end of my shift!

I've spent about 4 hours building Prime and so far have only completed the cab. The trailer I hope doesn't take as long, but then I'll have to dismantle it and have a go at the robot mode. On the one hand it means I've already spent more time on it than almost any transformer bought in the last year or two. On the other the build time really does seem like it will prevent it being played with as a Transformer.
As a lego type set I guess its normal and I'm really enjoying myself, but what do you think are these meant to be played with as a Transformer? Because if it is it's making MP Megatron, RID Magnus and ROTF Prime look quick and simple.

I think it's more of the idea of having 2 constructions kits in one (like the LEGO Creator sets) rather than being playing with in the same way as a Transformer action figure. Build the vehicle mode, have fun with it the make the robot mode and play with that, etc.

Disappointing! I thought it was going to be like the more coordinated G1 Devastator. Still, an improvement over ugly Bayformer Devastator toys ===KEN

Hmm half the photos and ebay listings seem to have the metallic paint applied to the front of the feet, the rest are unpainted. Odd.

At the end of a shit day last week I cracked and opened the KREO sets Andu had bullied me into buying. Hmmm. It's ok, but its no LEGO. The plastic just feels 'wrong' in a way I cannot articulate. LEGO Minifigs are better too.

Optimus Prime is now down to 45 quid in Smyth's. No surprise as nowhere here seems to be able to shift them - local Tescos abandoned all attempts and ASDA sold them near half price and even Toys R Us have discounts on them.

Higher price building block sets that don't have the LEGO logo on them may be a harder sell than the smaller sets, perhaps.

Toys'r'us have had 25% off all Kre-o longer than they've had it at full price. It was reduced for most of the Christmas period. It almost never shifts at full price. It's simply too expensive when more exciting Lego sets and better value Mega Bloks and Character Building sets are available right next to them.

Its a shame because the big Prime is really quite good fun and that was just truck mode. I haven't had the energy or time to take it apart to make the robot.
Maybe they needed to launch earlier with just the smaller figures to build up interest and then roll out the big chaps for Christmas.
I bought mini Bee and Prime for a friends twins who are currently in to lego and transformers and they absolutely loved building them. Spent about an hour on them and got two fairly decent toy robots out of them. So the target audience seem to like them, but convincing parents to shell out on the big sets is the hard part.
Mini Prime is especially good, if anyone has a Morrisons near by see if they have them for £3, its well worth it.

Built Kre-o Starscream on Saturday night. Pretty good jet, working landing gear and armed to the teeth. Now... how to present in my display cabinet as the Starscream shelf is full Time to bring out the fishing wire for flying jets me thinks.

I'm not entirely taken by what is essentially a lie-them-down-and-they're-transformed concept, but it's an interesting direction and I look forward to seeing how the line develops further. The combined forms are actually quite clever; I especially like the Kreons sitting as feet.
Still, that basic transformation does make the Kreons rather more playable than the full kits. (Properly transforming kits now, please.)

Now that is clever and differentiates them from LEGO minifigs, taking advantage of the IP and doing something new and distinct from that other (and better, generally) brand. I approve. They look utterly tragic and all I can hear in my head is the symphony of the sad trombone, but the idea is great and they could be fun to play with.
