Just putting out feelers is anyone familiar with the Venture Bros? It is one of my all time fave shows and it just got picked up for a 5th and 6th season by Adult Swim.
For the uninitiated Venture Bros is a story of failure. Set in a universe populated by twisted hanna barbera mystery characters Doctor 'Rusty' Venture is a cynical pill popping former boy adventurer and son of the late genius Dr Thaddeus Venture. He lives with his two sons Dean and Hank who follow in their dad's footsteps protected by Brock Samson a 'swedish murder machine'. Constantly harrassed by The Monarch his arch nemesis Dr Venture tries to make money by reinventing his dad's inventions to sell to the military while trying to avoid the adventures his sons love and being killed by the Monarch or another villain from the Guild of Calametous Intent.
It's a character driven show that subtly references pop culture. Here's a clip if you are interested.
