Mercury Stream Metalikato Mercury Stream was a style of Metalikato that grew up amongst the city-states bordering the Mercury Swamps. According to legend its first teacher was inspired by the flows of mercury that ran into the swamps, and their steady erosion of the surrounding land. “Flow as does the Mercury, always in motion and the strongest will eventually wear down to nothing.” Mercury Swamp style Metalikato emphasised continous motion, eschewing fixed stances it relied more on flowing movements between positions and a measured pace of attack and defence designed to conserve energy and concentration whilst wearing down the opponent through the prolonged fight. The nature of the style gave it strong similarities to some of the esoteric meditation-in-motion techniques developed by some of the more esoteric Circuit Sects. Many practitioners of Mercury Stream had distinctly mystical tendencies. Never a widespread style Mercury Stream never developed the popularity of styles such as Whirling Cog or Centred Pivot. For practical purposes the style was practically extinct as a living martial art by the decades immediately before the Deception uprising. Records of some of its basic principles remained however, and these did prove of some influence in the development of Precessive Mugen (modern). This article on Mercury Stream Metalikato is a stub.
