Evening all. My sister just acquired the recent anniversary set of Predaking, to my jealousy and hatred. However she's had a bit of trouble transforming Razorclaw from lion to robot mode as his beast-mode head refuses to swing down to his chest.
Naturally she's wary of forcing it, given the expense, and is pondering sending the set back rather than damage it. Any tips? The instructions aren't much help, being in Japanese...

Thanks Phil. The trouble seems to be something blocking the Lion's head's path, preventing it from swinging down on to the chest. I thought maybe the arms needed to be pulled out more, but they won't go any further. Very strange indeed.

Might be worth examining it closely to see if there's a bit of mould flash in the way that can be trimmed.

Your sister collects Transformers? Cool sister. Cool gestalt. How old is she? I reckon like Phil said its got to be something that can be trimmed.

The position of the arms shouldn't be a factor- it should be a straight slide down from atop the shoulders to the front of the torso. If she hasn't put the stickers on yet, one of you could shine a light into the gap where the bar with the head on it slides down, see where the instruction is, then take the torso apart with a screwdriver and file it down/trim it with a file or craft knife. I have the do something similar with the back wheel on Takara's releases of the Skids mould otherwise they don't stand up straight.

Yeah she had a look down the slot with a torch and there's something blocking the way. I think she's still a little loathe to cut into it though, despite being confident enough to build her own hideously complicated Gundam models (They make Airfix kits look like bloody Duplo!). She'll probably end up trying to exchange them, I think.
Cheers for your help, though, everyone.
SF1378 - Yeah, she's mad for Transformers. It's my fault, really; she's a couple of years younger than me and being my sister has sent her into a model-kit/toy-collecting overdrive. Anyone who recalls my appearances many moons ago at Transforces 99-2001 would have seen me shadowed by a small female creature with blue eyes. That was her.

Never been to any TF Cons at all Alex, so have never seen the small female creature with blue eyes. How old are ye both - and is she single and pretty? ;P

Naturally, we're both single and pretty. With good reason, as my string of failed relationships will attest...
